Forest Foods began trading in 1994 in an attempt to provide an alternative to the current range of vegetarian food-to-go that was available. Sarah Bird, founder, drew on her influences from working in a Mexican restaurant in California, influences that can still be seen in the range today.
Her belief was that just because it is vegetarian does not mean that it needs to lack flavour and her aim was to create a range of vegetarian products that offered more taste and imagination than the ranges that were already on offer.The products were tested by trading for a year with On the Eighth Day, Manchester's oldest and biggest Health food shop.

I can’t say enough good things about forest foods - Every wrap I’ve tried (and there’s a lot!) are absolutely delicious. It’s great as a vegan to have so many options that are so quick and tasty to grab when I don’t have time to cook. I also have a family member who works for them and I know they really look after their staff - an awesome company with great products and great values 😊
