It is important to make this initial appointment as early as possible - at least 6 weeks before you travel - as a second appointment will be required with the practice nurse to actually receive the vaccinations. These vaccines have to be ordered as they are not a stock vaccine. Your second appointment needs to be at least 2 weeks before you travel to allow the vaccines to work.

They cover issues such as the role of GPs, their function as gatekeepers to the health services, how to register and how to access emergency services.
The Summary Care Record (SCR) is an electronic record of important patient information, created from GP medical records. It can be seen and used by authorised staff in other areas of the health and care system involved in your direct care. Your SCR is a short summary of your GP medical records (medication, allergy and adverse reaction information).

Got told 3 weeks ago I could have the flu jab as my husband has no immune system attend at my appointment but the nurse refused. Phoned up and spoke to the receptionist who said I should of had it and rebooked me back in.Attended today and the same nurse refused to give it me again. I have had it for the last 4 years but was told by the nurse I now have to pay. This surgery is an absolute joke

I'll let this speak for itself. My father is a regular user of this practice. However, he has,, on more than one occasion, had to buy his own asthma treatment, as the receptionist has decided that he doesn't need it, as aparrently, the receptionist is able to prescribe and unprescribe medicines. Apart from dire receptionist staff, the practice is okay. However, some of their clinical decisions have been seen as questionable by a consultant at New Cross Hospital, so make of that what you will. Overall, it is a good practice, but much to be desired in terms of PR and clinical decision making.
