Place2Be is a children's mental health charity with over 25 years' experience working with pupils, families and staff in UK schools. We provide mental health support in schools through one-to-one and group counselling using tried and tested methods backed by research. We also offer expert training and professional qualifications.
We provide mental health training to support school leaders, teachers and other staff to develop mentally healthy schools. Place2Be is part of our school family. It is more than an office, more than a therapy room and more than a collection of counsellors. My daughter had become a different person - one we didn't recognise - but since counselling we see signs of our old loving daughter coming back.

Place2Be is a children's mental health charity that provides counselling and mental health support and training in UK schools. Our tried and tested model is backed by research. For over 25 years we have provided mental health services in schools, guided by our mission, vision, values and approach. Meet the dedicated people who help us make a real difference to children and young people's mental health.
We are committed to helping children with their mental health. Our approach to children's mental health means we aim to intervene early to prevent life-long mental health issues. We provide support early to spot mental health problems before they develop and help children cope with challenges throughout their lives.
For 25 years, Place2Be has been providing in-school emotional support to children and young people. Since we were founded in 1994, we've grown from supporting a handful of inner London schools, to working with over 600 schools nationwide. She was inspired by a Family Service Unit (FSU) project in Southwark called 'The Place to Be' which had placed a counsellor in a primary school.
Meet the people who help Place2Be make a real difference to children and young people's lives. Our staff and trustees lead the way in improving children's mental health, with a wealth of experience in a variety of sectors. We are honoured to have HRH The Duchess of Cambridge as our Royal Patron, shining a spotlight on children's mental health.
Place2Be's child mental health and counselling services are based on more than 25 years of experience working within schools, supporting the wellbeing of children, young people, families and school staff across the UK. The support we receive at our school from Place 2 Be is excellent, with fast and effective intervention available for our young people. Place 2 Be has helped to highlight many issues that we otherwise would not have known about. This has added a much needed layer to pastoral care at our school, with students and staff more able to talk open and honestly about their feelings.
Place 2 Be has helped us break away from the opinion that young people should not show their feelings and should not get upset. Through the services available at Place 2 Be, our school is teaching our young people that getting

Place2Be is a wonderful organisation with compassionate volunteers that helps children who are going through a difficult time. I had the opportunity to work with this amazing organisation on placement as a Trainee Art Psychotherapist. I worked in a mainstream school, with 3-5 clients that I saw for a long period of time consistently. I was supported by my supervisor on training and the organisation itself. Place2Be helped me flourish in my training, and I gained so much insight and hands on experience of being in a therapy room facilitating session for the children. I saw children that came from

The charity Place2Be came to my work to talk about the great work they do in over 280 schools (increasing) to tackle mental ill health in our young people. It’s so important that we raise awareness, and we recognise that intervention of depression, low self esteem and anxiety at an early age makes a huge difference to people’s lives. Please check out their page and see the fantastic work they do!
