We are different from most other "direct from farm" meat suppliers as we are professional butchers who farm. The business has been farming and butchering since 1880 and to this day we still dry age and mature our meat the traditional way on the bone before cutting for today's modern consumer.
As well as farming ourselves we work with many other small farmers who farm the margins of Dartmoor and Bodmin Moor and throughout the grasslands of the Tamar Valley in-between.It is here that you will find us in the historic town of Launceston, the ancient capital of Cornwall. We work all year round with local farms who, like us, specialise in keeping native breed beef.

Services
We are Butchers & Graziers which means not only do we age the meat and cut the meat we also farm the livestock to produce the meat. We farm and sell indigenous breeds of British cattle and we pride ourselves on our knowledge and expertise, specialising in suckled native beef breeds.
We also work with many other small farmers who make our 'partner farm network' and who manage land from the margins of Bodmin moor and Dartmoor to the North Cornish coast and throughout the verdant grasslands of the Tamar Valley that lie in between. It is here that you will find us, in the historic old market town of Launceston, the ancient capital of Cornwall, where we act as a true route to market for our farming community.

We have been butchers in our town for many years now. 12 years ago we opened a new out of town store which has evolved greatly, due to demand, to become our new home. Carrying on the traditions of the past but in a modern way, we continue to strive to be the best and to serve our visitors and local community the best we can.
Over the last ten years we have fulfilled our aim to be able to supply restaurants with the same high standard of meat that we have always served in our shop. In turn this has helped us to strengthen and increase our network of partner farms and give a bigger and better route to market for them.
We do not consider ourselves to be 'catering butchers', we are still a family business who can supply traditional meat handled in the traditional way to a pub or restaurant that is looking for high quality and consistency.

I came across this high quality butchers by complete accident as I happened to be on the industrial estate for other matters. I was drawn to the premises because of how busy it was and the aroma of freshly cooked pasties.
I can say without any fear of contradiction that their Cornish pasties are the best that I have ever tasted and, whilst I am not usually a sausage roll fan, their sausage rolls are amazing. We now frequently buy a lot of our meat from here and find excuses to be in the Launceston area so we can stock up. The quality of produce is second to none.

Brilliant hot and cold takeaway food, breakfast rolls, lunch rolls, snacks, hot and cold drinks. I had a bacon roll, very generous filling, quality back bacon in a soft roll. The butchers counter is first class all Cornish or Eest Country reared beef, pork, lamb and chicken. The counter is presented beautifully and the staff are friendly, knowledgeable and happy to advise. They have an unbelievable beef display in the lobby with ribs of various breeds of cattle on display which is mouthwatering. For anyone who enjoys top quality, locally produced meat it's well worth a visit, less than 2 mins from
