It has not been the easiest of starts due to the restrictions and poor weather, yet Suzie and I are overwhelmed and encouraged by the support and loyalty shown by the village. We cannot wait to get involved with all the village events and continue being the hub of the community.

We sell real ales - some of them from local independent brewers such as Long Man (Wilmington), Three Acre Brewery (Blackboys) and Gun Brewery (Gun Hill), and three of them are nationally available ales.We also now have real ciders on tap, in addition to craft lagers and fine keg ciders such as Aspall.

Our 6th visit for a Sunday lunch. As usual, great and friendly service. Quality and quantity of food excellent but only marred by the fact that the food was luke warm or it would have been a 5 star experience.

Very friendly and efficient staff - interesting and varied menu with good vegetarian options - we both chose the goats cheese and bacon salad, I was a bit surprised to see that included hot new potatoes but other than that it was lovely - definitely worth a visit

Friendly atmosphere, well priced food, very generous portions. Done really nice home cooked food. The lamb pie main and banoffee pie dessert were particularly good.

Sadly this has gone downhill the food we had was appalling and the fact the lady cook was about to leave when we arrived should have been a warning. The potatoes were solid (the waitress commented that someone else had complained already that evening the same thing? She did knock a very small amount off for this) the food was lacking in anything, barely warm quiche which was unexciting hard potatoes and balsamic vinegar spread absolutely everywhere across the plate and food. Husband had chicken wrapped in bacon (definitely microwave!) Everything appeared with less than 10 mins of ordering.

Had Sunday lunch there yesterday. An absolutely beautiful home cooked meal. A proper pub, excellent welcome for everyone. Staff were very friendly and chatty. Just so nice to see people back enjoying themselves again.

Good quality home cooked food and very friendly place. Light and airy but still cozy inside too.
And they serve a proper pie with short crust pasty, which seems to be so rare theses days, with big chunks of meat too 😋 all washed down with a tasty pint of Longman's Best.
