Services
Here at The Sportsman Pub, we can cater for all types of functions & celebrations. We have a large restaurant area that can be used for parties, whether that be a birthday, christening or wedding. Our menu for our functions ranges from a classic finger buffet or perhaps something for a 3 course sit down meal.
Tuck into some fabulous food, sourced from the best local producers in and around West Sussex. We offer a classic pub menu including traditional fish & chips smothered in beer batter with hand cut chips & garden peas. Or perhaps our hand pressed Sussex beef burger topped with local cheese & chorizo - delicious!
Built during 2020 with a design to incorporate the countryside surroundings with their unique Shepard's hut style, the four pods are a welcomed addition to the pub grounds. Named after some of the famous West Sussex land marks - Jack & Jill, Wolstonbury, Newtimber & The Beacon, the pods offer an intimate private dining experience or a place for a boozy brunch!

Last minute decision to treat ourselves to a meal out with our puppy in tow. We were all welcomed by the friendly and accommodating staff- even a bowl of water and a doggy treat for our pup!
Atmosphere was cosy. Staff were super friendly and the perfect balance of attentiveness. We thoroughly enjoyed our meals and would definitely recommend this pub.

Felt a bit let down as I had heard so many good things about this place. To be fair to them the starters were of top quality and we're very much enjoyed but the main course was a total let down. The roast dinner here lacked salt and the gravy tasted burned. Maybe we got unlucky but sure ruined what I was hoping would be a special treat :/

What a lovely pub in a quaint edge of village setting, ample space in the pubs her garden across the road with a large marquee where you order your drinks then sit and relax with the staff bringing it to you and take service for outside food fabulous wooden odds that can be booked for more intimate gatherings, lovely staff and great cider and ales. We didn't have fish and chips but I can tell you, they looked and smelt delicious

Visited here with our motorhome for a brit stop night. Felt very welcome, went into pub for an evening meal (fantastic food and beer/wine). Quiet location, felt like valued customers and enjoyed our evening. Left in the morning with happy memories. Would re visit without a thought. Great restaurant, good selection of beer and wine, great hosts plus good location. Please visit this pub.

This pub is absolutely fantastic and is a true traditional English pub with no annoying slot machines!
Great selection of ever changing ales and a discount for members of CAMERA like me.
The food was excellent and nicely presented.
Nice garden and friendly staff. I would highly recommend this pub to everyone - even those that have kids and dogs as they both seemed to be equally welcome.

Its a bit tricky finding this place but it is a real hidden gem. Great pub food and really nice atmosphere all round. It dates back to the 1800s and used to be two pubs that were knocked into one so plenty of room for people throughout.
The last time I ate there for lunch I had the Tuna Nicoise Salad which came loaded with nice big chunks of char-grilled tuna. We had a bottle of Rioja Blanco to go with it and it was excellent.
Nice big garden that would suit a large group looking for a spacious place to enjoy a sunny Sunday lunch!
