It was a very busy Sunday lunch when we dropped in. Although the staff tried to find us a table indoors we decided to grab a seat outside as it was quieter. We ordered food at the bar and within 20 minutes we tucked into probably the best fish and chips we've had. The fish seemed very fresh and the batter was as light as anything. We highly recommend dropping in if you're walking 'The Downs'.

Visited today for a roast & left rather disappointed. Very average roast & would expect a better standard for a £17/ £18 main. Staff very pleasant but meal was rushed, starters came before we'd even got a drink & main came right after the starters were taken away. Unfortunately, we won't be returning

Amazing lunch for my dad‘s 85th. Staff were super pleasant and well trained, and of course, the food was excellent, both in taste and presentation. The menu did not do justice to the chef‘s far more complex content and flavour combinations. But, there is only so much room on a menu I guess. Well done all, must try out the fabulous beer gardens next time.
