Burgers has been bringing a Swiss continental heritage to the beautiful town of Marlow for over 70 years. Remaining family owned and run for three generations, we pride ourselves on baking everything on the premises to the highest of standards. Our craft bakery is the heart of our company. Our artisan bread is freshly baked every day, preserving the rare tradition of a handmade loaf.
Services
Our pastry chefs take great pride and joy in crafting beautiful cakes and pastries for you to enjoy. Freshly baked croissants and glossy fruit buns fill the counters each morning, their wonderful aroma floating through the shop. Delicate and refined cakes sit temptingly on our shelves, a treat to behold: chocolate eclairs and ganache torten, meringues and macaroons.
We can serve a morning espresso, a lovely continental breakfast or a hearty full English. Our lunch menu offers our famous welsh rarebit and other traditional treats, as well as a fresh range of sandwiches and salads. Our customers have been enjoying our charming tearoom set in our characterful Grade II listed building since 1942.
Eric Burger began making chocolates here in the 1940's, and his son Philippe carried on the tradition, having also trained in Switzerland. This chocolate heritage continues today, with wonderful pralines, dark chocolate caramels, delicate rose & violet cremes and rich ganache truffles. Each delicious chocolate is still handcrafted using traditional recipes and techniques.
Our cakes are baked by our speciality bakers, whose knowledge and expertise can create a wonderful cake for your celebration. Choose from our meltingly light and moist vanilla genoese sponge, or rich chocolate cake filled with our own buttercream or chocolate ganache. Or our perfectly matured, rich fruit cake made with the finest fruits.

If I could choose a one star rating I definitely would, the manager was far more rude then the rest of the staff put together. I was sat right in front of the kitchen and watched my food go cold for over ten minutes, the kitchen staff rung the service bell several times whilst the manager and another waitress stood to the side of the restaurant having a chat. When the manager eventually went into the kitchen she picked up the plate next to mine that had only been there for a couple of minutes leaving mine to go colder. When the food was eventually bought to us by another member of staff, I asked

An absolute disgrace. Paid £5.90 for 2 hot sausage rolls to take away. On the positive side they were hot - tasted as though they had come out of the microwave- soggy, greasy. I'm assuming these are bought in en mass and frozen. For the prices charged I expected a quality product - we will not return

We have visited Burgers for over 30 years, the service is now poor, if you sit outside it is only paper cups, no tea pot and crockery. You get that at any outdoor cafe. Burgers is no longer a top quality tea shop, just run of the mill. There is no atmosphere and other tea shops in high Street are no much better thab Burgers. Very sad.

Very nice and relaxing drinking the lovely coffee and even nicer, rather large slice of cake (chocolate ganache torten was to die for!) Followed by buying some rather nice chocs as gifts for friends. Time has changed the shop from how I remember it nearly 45 years ago but the ethos and purpose very much carry through the years. Nice one Burgers of Marlow 🙂

I can certainly see why this place has been around so long. I've been twice now and neither times have disappointed. I'm always worried with make your own sandwich places because you're never sure if you're gonna be short changed in the amount of filling....well they were clearly making up for everytime I have been as I had half of the Pacific Ocean worth of prawns in my sandwich on both occasions! Well worth the money and if you go and they have donuts, get them... seriously they're amazing and don't last

Had a lovely lunch at Burgers today, they were very very busy but stayed on top of all Covid precautions. A special shout out to Claire who looked absolutely rushed off her feet but managed to be calm, organised, polite and happy trying to fit everyone in and get their food to them on time, she went above and beyond! A real asset to the Burgers team.
