Services
Our primary health care team work together to help Thistlemoor Medical Centre deliver patient care. The emphasis is on a team approach to healthcare. The reception team supports the care delivery and enables the flow through the practice. The administrative team organises the structure and function of the care-delivery teams.
08:00 - 15:00 Monday to Friday - pre-booked only with priority to blood tests that need to be done. Out of hours care is provided in Peterborough - please phone - 01733 293 838 to speak to the service. The A&E department in the hospital should not be used for routine in hours or out of hours consultations, however for certain conditions listed below, you could go directly there.
Registered GP practices receive inspections and will be continually monitored to ensure that they are meeting national standards. We have continued to learn from these CQC inspections in terms of preparing for them as well as learning from the feedback given by the inspection team. As a practice we were delighted with the ratings of outstanding.
Dr Nalini Modha took over running the surgery in 1994 when the surgery looked after 700 patients. At this point care was being delivered from a single terraced house. Over the years the site has been developed and extended to help the surgery to look after 28,000 patients from purpose built facilities.
We now have confirmed delivery for both our adult flu vaccines (one for under 65s, one for over 65 years). We will be holding our popular daily Flu Clinics this year, and all eligible patients are encouraged to book their place. We will be booking flu vaccinations in order of government priority. Who is eligible to have the flu vaccine?

I'm currently patient at this surgery. Over the years they got worse and worse. I suffer with prolonged issues withmy back, and I am treated like a druggie, expecting medications, that let me get out of bed. Those people will not pay my bills, so I have to be able to move. All I hear is the meds are not for long term use, and they are strong. If your legs are paralyzed from exruciating pain every morning, you will get annoyed. It is not like a flu, it wll go in a week. Back problems is very overlooked issue. Same with RLS. I was told medications are for short term. Well RLS. Is lifelong condition

I have been a patient with Thistlemoor Medical centre for more years than I care to recall.
Therefore, I have experienced a number of changes to service delivery however, what has remained mostly consistent is the high standard of care that I have received from the Doctors and staff. The pandemic has enforced a massive change to the way we all work and live our lives and this includes how key services are delivered to us. I am computer literate however, this did not stop me from being frustrated by having to go through the Engage Consult online service as I have had always had a preference to

I have been a patient of Thistlemoor Medical Centre for over 29 years. Since March 2020 the whole place has been a complete shambles. No one knows what they are doing, they are over run with patients and providing a decent standard of healthcare doesn't seem to be a priority. They have made numerous mistakes with regards to myself and also my 6 month old son. They couldn't even copy his name from my application form to the system correctly (this is still incorrect to this day). They nearly gave him his 8 week injections a second time instead of his 12 week injections because it wasn't documented

This morning I started to try and get in touch with the surgery from 8.30am as told to by reception on Friday afternoon as I wanted to speak to a doctor. At 8.30 I was number 30 in the cue where by I got cut off when I got to 27. Tried another three times and was back to 30 again. Left it for 30 min tried again and was told my called could not be taken at the moment, this happened 3 times. Left it another 1 hour where I hung on for 45 mins and when I finally got to talk to someone I was quite annoyed, she arranged for me to be able to talk to a doctor today at some point. I wanted to know why it

This morning tried to make appointment for blood test as I received text from surgery to make appointment. Spent 30 mins hanging on number 19 in the cue to be told next available appointment for blood test will be 27th Sept. Do not understand why after 18 months the surgery is still taking forever to answer calls and the message mentions they are having problems with the phones. When you have not been able to see a doctor for over 18 months it can get a bit frustrating. Why is the surgery still not running the service as before, as other surgeries in Peterborough are already seeing patients as

Great points: the doctors and the nurses were always spot on, helpful and taking care of me.
My prescriptions were in time sent to the pharmacy and medicine quickly dealt with.
Bad points: don’t know his name, but this spanish guy over the phone has such a nasty attitude and when asked his name he refused to give it to me.. just called in today… with a serious issue and he gave me such a bad attitude.. this is not H&M my friend this is a place where people are desperate and panicked because something is threatening their well-being..

Completely useless when it comes to giving any form of customer service/patient care have had better communication from a toilet brush!. when you try to call you get stuck in a repetetive call centre loop of distorted horrible music and robotic voices for anything up to an hour before you get through to any human being even then nothing gets achieved! you get excuse after excuse after excuse from them trying to wiggle of things some days you can't even call them because you just get the robotic excuse that "they are dealing with an emergency service all afternoon" you get to the point where it

Phone line cuts off, no specific time for consultation during Covid-19,
Very poor organization of scheduling the service. You have to call them back and good luck if you can get a hold of someone if your phone does not cut off. No phone consultation appointment for a certain time so if you are at work, someone will call you whenever they available instead of sticking with a certain time, so waste of many hours. Patients first and serving people should be the priority. It just makes me wonder if the quality of service is low because of demographics of the area.
