Good location if you look for a bit of city escape as the views are stunning. The place was very clean in general, everything in place and tidy. The staff I cannot say enough how helpful and nice, always ready to help and clarify any questions .
Now, the not so good part in our opinion, was the price for the quality of the product, if that makes sense. We got an executive room and for 186£ a night you don't get a fridge or a hair dryer. The rom furniture is outdated ( at least in our opinion) and the breakfast I can't say I was amazed.
In overall it was a good experience and we would love to

Our room was a Family Triple and had a double bed and a full sized single bed. Perfect for our 6 foot tall teenager. The room was clean and tidy with suitable facilities.
The staff were very helpful and responsive to our needs.
Breakfast was very good and the staff were flexible with our choices.
The Beckside bar was okay, nice beer and pub food.

We are paying £164 to stay in this hotel for a wedding at the hotel next door. The staff are surly at best, the room is way below a premier inn standard and the bed is literally 4’6”. Oh and if you both want hot chocolate then boo boo - there is only one sachet in the ridiculously poor welcome basket. Oh and reception want a credit card to take a £50 deposit in case we trash the room - I didn’t realise this was the sort of hotel we were staying in!! You have to wear masks, which I respect, but now I think it is so you can’t see how incredibly unfriendly their staff are. A very unhappy

Really appreciated the hospitality at The Glenridding Hotel having made a booking to attend my neices wedding nearby.
The staff were friendly & very welcoming, the furnishings were smart & clean &, importantly, the bed was very comfortable. We had a room with a lake & mountain view & the bar food & breakfasts were tasty & enjoyed.
My brother & wife were given an upgrade to a suite without requesting it - much appreciated. The ambience of the hotel was casual & not restrictive that I particularly found relaxing.
I am only sad that I did not find the time to have a swim in the indoor pool, but

Despite some questionable reviews, we decided to book a stay here. We quickly discovered we had made a mistake after we arrived to check-in and were genuinely taken back at how rude the receptionist behaved towards us. This interaction soured our stay from the very minute we arrived. It was so bad that we called around and it seemed like the other hotels understood exactly why we were calling them! Other guests in the lobby took it upon themselves to walk over and see if we needed any help, which prompted a pretty quick change in attitude behind the receptionist desk. There wasn't the slightest

This hotel managed to provide the worst welcome I have ever experienced in a hotel. The staff did not try to help or offer any alternative when problems arose to the extent that we had to ring for different accommodation locally (there was none available). They hide behind booking.com and blame them for their own poor customer service. Previous poor reviews illustrate that we are not alone in our experience - this is not a cheap hotel, spend your money wisely elsewhere.

All the points others have made to complain about plus the owner was rude to my husband actually asking him if he was staying at the hotel when he was just waiting for me to return from the shop opposite. I notice he only responds to the compliments not the complaints and asks them to put on Trip Adviser as well if a good review. Echos of Fawlty Towers!!! We are seasoned travellers both home and abroad and will definitely not be staying there again

We had a fab stay, we booked a standard room, on the road side and took ear plugs, the room was clean and everything worked as it should, the bed was comfy and the tray full of tea and coffee. The staff are extremely friendly and helpful and they seem to work all hours, serving us breakfast and then in the evening serving us food in the bar, Well Done Guys your doing a amazing job. The beckside bar had a good choice of food and drinks, I had the Pizza in our last night which was awesome. Thanks For A Fab Stay! We will be back.

The Glenridding Hotel is one of my "must go" places when I am visiting the extremely beautiful village of Glenridding on the shores of the picturesque Lake Ullswater.
The warm welcome here is assured. The hotel is open to everyone, whether it is just for a quiet relaxing drink or a highly recommended meal sourced entirely of locally produce & exquisitely served. Providing the weather is favourable the sun terrace by the beck is a must.
Ravaged and severely damaged a few years ago by severe flooding the Glenridding Hotel has risen like a 'Phoenix from the ashes',now proudly refurbished awaiting

The location is amazing and that’s the only good thing about this hotel, I went to a wedding next door and this was the only place I could get a room, the room cost me £185 for one night which I wasn’t to bothered about paying as I was looking forward to some beautiful views of the lake, instead I got a view of the road out front.
I got woken at 0745 by some sort of loud buzzing in the corridor and then got woken again at 0800 by the same noise.
When I went to get a shower I noticed that my towel was dirty and had stains on it like it hadn’t been changed.
My stay wasn’t worth the £185
