Edenhall is ideally located for exploring the Lake District and situated in the beautiful Eden Valley. With 20 en-suite rooms, some of which are pet friendly, we are larger than most B&Bs, but smaller and more intimate than many other Cumbrian hotels, making Edenhall Country House the ideal place for a short bed and breakfast break or a longer holiday.
Set in over an acre of beautifully maintained gardens, Edenhall Country House is one of a number of Cumbrian hotels that makes a fabulous setting for civil weddings and wedding celebrations. The hotel is also available for functions including family parties and gatherings as well as conferences during the week.

We got here late on a Monday night, having already been turned away by two pubs looking for something to eat. The staff were hugely accommodating, and were able to offer us food despite the chef having started to shut down the kitchen. The portion was huge, and the food was incredibly tasty. Will definitely return next time I'm in the area.

I would have given it 1 star if it wasn't for the good food.
Good points
- The food was absolutely fantastic, really good country food with proper meats and cheeses!
- The staff were very friendly and welcoming
Bad points
- The rooms were dark, depressing and had a rather nasty smell. The beds weren't good quality and the bed bases looked like they were made in the 1800's.
- The food experience was really poor. The Hotel has a really big problem with flies. I was constantly swatting fly after fly from my food and it just made everything 10x worse. Why can't they put measures in place to stop

Really friendly and welcoming place, plenty of parking. Comfy bar area, lovely roomy conservatory dining room with views over the garden. Room was clean and spacious, comfy bed, bath and shower, inc toiletries, ironing board, hairdryer and tea making facilities. Food was delicious, plentiful and reasonably priced. Dogs are welcome too, although I didn't bring mine. You would need a car for this location, but its not too far a drive from Ullswater. Would definitely recommend and hope to return.

We had the most amazing two nights at Edenhall hotel !
After we arrived at a nearby pub we had booked, only to find they are closed and we had a whole lot of hassle with booking.com, Edenhall was able to squeeze us in. We stayed in a beautiful, super clean and minimalistic (in a good way!! ) room in the Annexe.
All the staff were so accommodating, welcoming and they spoiled our rescue dog at dinner times.
The location is fantastic, a short walk takes you to the beautiful River Eden with opportunity for both human and canine to swim.
The food is all fresh, home made and delicious and the portions
