Ashleigh Primary School & Nursery Wymondham
The purpose of this website is to provide an insight into the high quality provision offered within our school. We hope it will be of interest to existing members of our community and for those wishing to find out more about us. The Staff, Governors and I are committed to working together to provide the highest quality education to develop the whole child.

We are proud of our curriculum, which teaches children the key knowledge and skills of the national curriculum and allows them to apply it in engaging and exciting learning opportunities. This successful approach means we build a love of learning in our children and attain very good results. Our school is welcoming and friendly.
Services
Our intent at Ashleigh is to ensure each child has a wealth of knowledge from a variety of significant periods in time; creating enthusiastic learners who have developed the ability to empathise with historical content, as well gained a knowledge of key historical facts.

Children at Ashleigh will be able to think critically about history, who are able to share their ideas effectively, as well as reflect, debate, discuss and evaluate the past by enquiry based questions.Children should feel a sense of curiosity within the history curriculum and be provided resources to facilitate exploration of the past.
We currently admit children into Ashleigh Nursery the September after their 3rd birthday. We offer all day provision, funded hours sessions are 8:30-11:30am and 12:15-3:15pm, with chargeable lunch, before and after school sessions. We also accept 30 hour additional funding where applicable. The Nursery has its own entrance, two welcoming classrooms, an enclosed, secure playground, and a large open grass play area.
We are seeking to appoint a Midday Supervisory Assistant to join our friendly, enthusiastic team. Duties include supervision of children within school, in outdoor areas and leading play and games. You will need to have a calm and caring manner and enjoy working with children. Being friendly, approachable and able to develop positive and constructive relationships with children and staff is essential.
The Governing Body has a large number of legal responsibilities and amongst these are ensuring that the National Curriculum is properly delivered, arranging for religious education to be carried out, deciding how to spend the delegated budget and approving the many different school policies, such as those referring to discipline and behaviour and health and safety.
The Government allocates extra funding, Pupil Premium, to all schools, to address any underlying inequalities between children eligible for Free School Meals (FSM) and their peers. As a group nationally, children who have been eligible for FSM at any point in time have consistently lower educational attainment than those who have never been eligible for FSM.
