Orchard Nursery is set in the lovely picturesque Orchard at Ketteringham Hall with full access to the surrounding areas. The Nursery is a converted barn and has four classrooms each with their own access to the outdoor environment. We provide Nursery Education and Day Care Provision for Children aged 3 Months to 5 Years. Orchard Nursery School is registered with OFSTED (the office for standards in Education) under the 1989 Children's Act.
Services
We aim to provide high quality childcare in a happy, safe, secure and stimulating environment. We offer a child-centred approach where children are encouraged to develop their creativity, individuality and self-confidence in secure surroundings. We aim to encourage learning through play and provide a variety of opportunities to support their individual learning.
It is our policy to make our setting accessible to all children and families from all sections of the local community. We aim to make sure that all sections of the communtiy have access to the setting through open, fair and clearly communicated procedures. Places are offered on a first come first serve basis.
We like to children to get involved in all sorts of craft, which ranges from body painting to car rolling! The children explore paints with their hands and different tools to learn about mark making. The children are introduced to lots of different textures, such as gloop, jelly, pasta and natural objects such as pinecones and leaves.
The children take part in a range of age/stage appropriate activities and experiences. These include, craft, building blocks, the home corner and looking at books. The children especially enjoy relaxing in our cosy area with a story. We also offer an exploration tray, this allows the children to get messy and explore a variety of textures, such as sand, water, dried pasta/rice and compost.
In the Rabbit Room we provide a wide range of stimulating activities and experiences to encourage children's development and imagination. We have a home corner, which changes from a home to hairdressers, to a fire station and anything else which supports the children's interests. If a child has a particular interest we will adapt the area to support their current interests.
