Serving the communities of Sutton, Kingston and further afield we take pride in being the default first opinion veterinary clinic for our clients. Our aim is to exceed your expectations in providing expert care for you and your pets as we guide you in looking after them and keeping them healthy throughout their lives.
Frean and Smyth Veterinary Surgeons first opened in North Cheam in 1990 with Julie Frean and Howard Smyth. It has been caring for the pets of Sutton and Kingston (and further afield!) A branch surgery in Worcester Park allowed easier access for our Kingston area clients. Over the following years, with additional space and increased clients and patients to be looked after, our vet team grew to six vets.
Repeat Prescriptions will be ready for collection 24 hours after your request is received (if submitted Monday 8am to Thursday 8pm). Requests submitted between 8pm on Thursday and 8am on Monday will be ready for collection on the following Tuesday. All animals on long term medications must be reassessed by a vet at least once every six months or more regularly if the condition of the animal requires this.
At Maven Veterinary Surgery we understand how upsetting it can be if a medical emergency occurs with your pet. We are here to support you during that time and are available to contact 24 hours a day. If our veterinary clinic is closed you will be directed to our Out of Hour Emergency Provider Vets Now Sutton.

Service is absolutely shocking and pathetic. Made an appointment over 10 days ago for my dog to have an injection for arthritis. Received a confirmation email the day before the appointment only to arrive and be told they do not have the medication in stock. Also had to wait over 15 minutes and 2 phone calls later to be seen. What is the point of making an appointment if this is how you operate. Would not recommend and will not be returning.

I registered at Maven vets, after recently moving to the area, because my dog had a swollen paw. After reading some of the reviews on here I wasn’t sure what to expect but I have been nothing but impressed with the service. All staff I have interacted with have gone out of their way to accommodate emergency appointments even when they’re clearly exceptionally busy (including redoing a dressing, which she’d pulled off, on a Saturday) and the vets I have seen in the last week in care of our dog have gone out of their way to keep her calm and to take their time in getting to know her. This practice advertise themselves as a specialist in animal dental care. So I called them for a dental check-up for my cat that had a tartar built-up. The lady who answered the phone told me to go elsewhere.

I took my cat Frank to maven due to weight loss. All Maven staff was amazing with frank and due to covid and not being able to go into the vets with him, I felt safe leaving him and was updated with everything over the phone by the friendly staff.
Sandra and Amy helped and advised me about my insurance claim for Frank and all was very smooth. I would highly recommend maven vets. 😀 🐈
