The Pre-School has been running since 1974 and since then has provided a happy, safe and caring environment for hundreds of children. Our aim is to help each child to learn through play, develop socially and to help prepare them for school. We are open to all children regardless of race, culture or ability and we work to help them to develop positive attitudes to differences and to value each other as individuals.
Our curriculum conforms to the government guidelines set out in the 'Revised Early Years Foundation Stage' documents. This supports the critical early years of a child's development, when key learning skills such as listening, speaking, concentration, working together and co-operation evolve. With parents and staff working together we hope to provide the best possible start for the children and a firm foundation for their future learning.

Services
Elworth Pre-School Group is a charity run pre-school educating children between the ages of 2 years and 5 years old. We provide care, and support learning in a friendly and informal setting, following the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) curriculum closely.
The emphasis in the EYFS curriculum is largely placed on learning through play and it is therefore the job of the staff at Elworth Pre-School to make your child's play educational by supporting and enhancing child-lead play. The staff provide loosely structured activities and low instances of adult led activities to allow your child to benefit from learning through his/her chosen interests.

Elworth Pre-School Group is a registered charity run by a committee made up of volunteers. The committee is made up of a chairperson, vice-chair, secretary, treasurer and other general committee members. Each person is elected at the Annual General Meeting (AGM) in the autumn term by parents and carers.
Elworth Pre-School currently employs seven members of staff consisting of a Manager, a Deputy/SENCO, and five Early Years Practitioners, many of whom have worked at this setting for a number of years. All members of staff hold a minimum of a level 3 NVQ in Childcare and the Manager of the setting has recently achieved a 1st class (BA) Hons degree in Early Childhood Studies and also holds EYP status as the Leader of the Curriculum in the setting.
Whilst parents are unable to come and view Elworth Pre-School during our opening hours at the present time, we have taken a short video of the room set out for a typical session (see below). We will always do our best to accommodate families who enquire at any time, however we would recommend putting your child's name down on our waiting list as soon as possible to ensure that you will be offered a place once your child is ready to come to us.
