Western Elms Day Nursery
Thank you for showing an interest in our nursery, we hope that you enjoy exploring our website and find it informative. At Western Elms Nursery, all children are treated as individuals and learning experiences are tailored towards their personality. We work closely with you as the parent to achieve the growth they need for their progression and development.

We are proud to have been awarded outstanding at our last Ofsted inspection. The nursery is divided into three age groups. We look at each child as an individual and so it may be that a child moves to the next room slightly outside of these brackets. Being a small, homely nursery, our staff know all of the children within the setting - this helps with transitions from room to room as they progress through the nursery.
Services
To achieve this, the staff team work closely with parents as well as with each other to build individual and professional relations with each family within our care, in order to best meet the needs of every individual child - The children always come first. At Western Elms Nursery we provide a homely atmosphere, as well as a professional and caring team.
You can expect a day full of fun and learning with activities that stretch and stimulate your child's learning through play in a nurturing environment. Activities are planned around children's individual interests, ways of learning and stages of learning and development, incorporated into a daily routine.
At Western Elms Nursery we believe that parents and staff need to work together in a close partnership in order for children to receive the quality of care and early learning to meet their individual needs. We welcome parents as partners and support a two-way sharing of information that helps establish trust and understanding.
At Western Elms Nursery we recognise that young children will experience many transitions in their early years; some of these planned and some unplanned. We are sensitive to the impact of such changes to children and this policy sets out the ways in which we support children going through these transitions.
At Western Elms Nursery we believe that mealtimes should be happy, social occasions for children and staff alike. We promote shared, enjoyable positive interactions at these times. We are committed to offering children healthy, nutritious and balanced meals and snacks, which meet individual needs and requirements.

I called the nursery to enquire about a space for my daughter in September. The woman on the phone was quite short and dismissive and told me I had to send an email. It didn't give me the best of impressions but at this point I was just enquiring. I emailed as requested enquiring about a space and fees, and I was then told I needed to complete a form. This felt a little extreme considering I was still only enquiring and the information on this form was as if I was applying for a place. Anyway, I completed the form and submitted with the days I potentially wanted and other information about my daughter

Amazing nursery with caring staff that really develops a great relationship with the kids. All the rooms are full of educational toys and seasonal decorations, often made by the kids themselves. Great garden with a separate area for the babies. My son loves all the activities and often has seconds of the lovely meals (cooked at the nursery).

Western Elms is a lovely nursery and has amazing staff. I wouldn't hesitate recommending this nursery to anyone considering their childcare options. Not only is our child incredibly happy and supported here he is well fed and gets to experience a wide range of activities each day.
