Services
Set in the heart of Reading's town centre, just a six-minute walk to Reading Station, Greyfriars Nursery is based in a former vicarage, with a large garden, offering an attractive and homely environment for children aged three months to five years. Greyfriars Nursery is affiliated to Greyfriars Church and maintains a Christian ethos in line with the Church's values.
At our Daycare Nursery, our dedicated team strives to encourage learning and development for your child in a safe, caring and fun environment. We offer a choice of sessions to enable us to meet the needs of you and your family. Our nursery is open from 8.00am until 6.00pm, Monday to Friday, 51 weeks of the year, excluding bank holidays.
Our Term Time Nursery is based in a church hall within the Greyfriars grounds and provides a fun and educational environment for children aged two to five years old. Our nursery is open 38 weeks of the year, during the school terms. There is also the option of combining sessions if your family requires additional flexibility.
We understand that juggling a busy work schedule with the school holidays is often tricky. So, our action-packed Holiday Club is the perfect way to keep your little ones entertained during the school holidays! Based in a church hall, within the nursery grounds, our Holiday Club caters for children aged three to eight years.
Shared record keeping about their child - both formally and informally - with access to all written records. Providing opportunities for parents to share their skills, knowledge and interests with the activities of the group. Encouraging parents to take part in specific activities (such as baking or creative activities) and play an active part in the management of the group.

My son has been very happy during his time at Greyfriars - he attend from 2y.o. until the commencement of his schooling at 4y.o. The management team were very responsive whenever I had a concern, and I could see when actions had been taken. Heidi and her team were always happy to discuss any aspects of my son's care with me, and facilitated 1-to-1 meetings between my son's key-worker, myself, and my husband. Importantly, they fostered friendships among the children and assisted parents in connecting outside of the nursery environment to allow the children to attend birthday parties etc. I'm sure

We went to see the nursery as we were looking to enrol our daughter for Sept./oct. 2020. the staff seemed to be in rush and a bit stressed and toys/facilities looked bit too old.
Secondly, upon our visit the member of staff told us we had to pay 50£ IN ADVANCE to secure the space and they would have provided availability within days but I then discovered from a friend that she paid the fee after availability was given (weird). Two months have now passed and we have not heard from them, thought we left our contact!
We enrolled our daughter in another nursery, however I find very unfair and misleading

My son attended to morning sessions for just 3 weeks. We signed him out because:
- they didn't change his wet clothes nor his nappy before we took him home. He is a healthy boy but he got a cold twice in those 3 weeks.
- they never asked about the spare change of clothes in his backpack, and they didn't assign a name tag in the hangers during all that time.
- some of the staff usually seemed in a rush when I asked how my son was during the day,
- we only saw a couple of times the key person assigned to our son the first day, and
- after we terminate the contract, we knew that there was a group

I took on board the negative reviews but still went to have a look around and what i saw, wasnt what the reviews stated. The place was clean, tidy, and safe. The staff were friendly and the children were all happy. Structured play times, my daughter loves it.

If there is zero, I will put zero to this place. My son spent more than two weeks there (because I had some jobs to do at that time) he was unhappy and sometimes cried. I found the place is terrible, the staff are rude, and everything is not good. Just Don't send your children to there!!!

My older daughter enjoys nursery very much. She loves all the trips to Hexagon and trips to farms. Staff are very friendly and helpful. On many occasions last year they helped me with extra childcare if they could. As a full time student and mum of two I sometimes need extra support with childcare. I would recommend this nursery. Even my husband who is very particular loves nursery and all the staff. Thank you 😊

We love this nursery. Have been using it for 2 years and we are truly happy. Great opening times, reasonably priced, not run buy a childcare company (or by some greedy business), lots of day trips and activities for the kids (very rare in other nurseries these days), teachers are professional and friendly (always listen to our concerns and help us) and have just generally been like our family at a time when we have not had any family around. Especially big thank you to them for all the skills they have taught my kids (from reading to zipping up their jackets).

I visted the nursery inorder to check out if there are places available to my child. The nursery rooms seems to have poor ventilation and illumination. The premises is unclean, it seems to be overcrowded.
The nursery staff puts accross the negative points first (things that they do not do:- like heating up the food sent to the kids, not taking responsibility for the prams of the kids and she tells me that it is possible for any stranger to enter the premises till the playground!! When this being the case, i as a parent would not prefer to send my child to this nursery
