Traditional baking at its best and an established family run business serving South Somerset since 1995. Roy is a fourth generation local baker with a proud baking heritage, stemming from Kingsbury Episcopi where his father and grandfather ran a bakery, and also Long Load where his great grandfather had a bakery business.
We source our ingredients as locally as possible and are pleased to supply many local shops, pubs and cafes, as well as several popular National Trust venues in the area. We look forward to welcoming you to one of our three shops based in Martock, Ilminster and South Petherton.

The business was originally run by two partners - Roy and Al, hence the name Bakery Roy-Al. When Al left in 1996, Roy took over the business and has run it ever since. During this time, the Bakery has grown from one shop in Martock to three, with other shops opening in Ilminster and South Petherton.
Different varieties of bread, cakes and buns, delicious savouries as well as a gluten free range. All the ingredients used in our gluten free Bread are gluten free, BUT we must stress that we are not an official gluten free bakery, so our products are not made in a totally gluten free environment. We are looking to further extend our gluten free range as it is becoming an increasingly popular choice!
We make all our white, wholemeal and granary bread the old fashioned way using a long fermentation process. We make a full range of buns and doughnuts as well as Danish pastries, lardy cakes, dough cakes and scones. Lardy Cake - Another Somerset speciality full of fruit and a sticky toffee base (dairy free).
