At our pre-school the qualified members of staff support the children in their play by providing opportunities to explore and investigate. We challenge the individual to promote their independence, social skills, thinking and own initiated play. We follow the Early Years Foundation Stage framework in an all-inclusive, fun, safe and enabling environment.
We have a large garden with regular Forest School lessons. We allow each child to learn at their own pace, through structured, planned, challenging and progressive play, in an environment which encourages self-confidence, independence and personal success. We promote physical development in a safe environment, both inside and out and make the transition from home to school a smooth, relaxed and happy experience.

Services
We are located in our own purpose-built premises in the middle of the village alongside St Andrew's CofE Primary School and Nursery, surrounded by beautiful countryside. MHPS has been in existence for over 50 years and we are a big part of the local community. The Pre-School has a large garden with a mud kitchen, a growing corner, a Forest School area, and a new smaller back garden.
Much Hadham Pre-School is an all-inclusive setting and we welcome all children providing we have spaces available. Please apply using our Application Form. If your child receives 15 hour funding you can choose sessions that suits your child and your family. For example 5 morning sessions 9-12 or 2 full days 9-3pm with a morning or afternoon session.
Our staff provide the perfect environment, with carefully planned activities and encouragement to help them develop to their full potential. All our staff are up to date with First Aid, Safeguarding, Prevention Training as well as attending regular Continuous Professional Development courses in different areas from Makaton taster sessions, Playing Outdoors, Behaviour, Mark Making, Speech and Language and more.
Learning through play and interaction in a place where they have empowerment over their environment, we promote an atmosphere of mutual respect and encouragement where children are prepared for their next steps in learning, so that they are happy, confident, creative, sociable and enthusiastic learners, who look forward to challenges.
After School Club is 15.00-18.00, is 15.75 and includes a snack and a light supper. We collect St Andrew's children from their classrooms and walk down to Pre-School where you collect your child. We will try to be as accommodating as possible however please give us as much notice as you can. Please keep us informed of any changes as soon as you can.

All 3 of my daughters have attended Much Hadham Preschool. They all absolutely loved their time there and we're beautifully looked after by the staff. The staff look after the children with great love and care and are very accommodating (if at all possible) if you need to change a session.
I will miss them all very much when my youngest finishes at Preschool this month.

I have had four children go through this fantastic facility. Nothing is too much trouble for the dedicated staff, and my children have always been really really happy there; learning important skills:- social, fine motor, listening skills, all of which have really helped with getting them school ready. I am very sad that I am at the end of a wonderful seven year run.
