Welcome to our school website, which reflects life at our school over the past few years. It has been designed to strengthen the contact between school and home for present and past pupils and their families. We hope that it will also give prospective parents a flavour of the very many special educational experiences we can offer your child.
We would especially recommend that you take time to browse through our galleries, where you can see how we endeavour to create a love for life and learning for everyone in our school. Thank you for taking the time to look through our website.

Tildarg Primary School is a small, controlled, rural school situated in close proximity to Ballyclare, Ballynashee, Ballyeaston, Burnside, Kells and Broughshane. Established in 1823, the school traditionally attracts pupils from these areas and the surrounding farming community. The staff consists of a teaching principal, three class teachers, five classroom assistants, a secretary, dinner lady and building supervisor.
Run by Mrs Tosh, our toddlers group takes place on a Wednesday from 9.45 a.m. until 11.45 a.m. Pre-school children come along with a parent/adult and enjoy the company of those of a similar age, getting them used to the school environment. Our Toddlers group seems to be growing in numbers every week, with Mums and youngsters enjoying the support and refreshments every Wednesday morning.
At Tildarg Primary School we promote good behaviour and reward this via class, principal and whole school awards. Please see below the children who have been awarded this certificate. It is very difficult to choose which pupils should receive this as the behaviour and manners of the children in Tildarg are exceptional.
Our Eco-Club is led by P4-7 children and P5/6 teacher, Miss Wright. Two pupils from each year group are elected by their peers at the beginning of the school year. They then meet half-termly to share ideas, run competitions and organise eco fund-raising activities. At the first meeting of the new school year, pupils plan activities for the term ahead.
The School Council at Tildarg give children the chance to share their ideas and have their say. We encourage everyone to think of great ideas to help the school to become even better. Over the last few years the School Council have helped to organise some fundraising events such a Fit Fun Morning, where the funds went on to purchase playground chalk boards and signage.
