In Asgrove Primary our ethos is to give all learners a broad and varied science curriculum which enables them to explore and discover the world around them, giving us a deeper understanding of the world we live in. Activities will reflect our science principles. This year, we are working towards gaining the Primary Science Quality Mark (PSQM) this demonstrates our commitment in embedding Science and our Science Principles across the curriculum.
We are proud that Ashgrove has always been a welcoming and inclusive school to all children and families. We have a rich tradition of taking part in many cross community projects enriching the curricular and pastoral experiences of all. In 2017 we began our Shared Education journey with our friends in St Michael's, Belfast.
We understand that parents and carers have busy lives and value the Wrap Around Care facilities we offer in Ashgrove Primary. In addition to the many After School Clubs, which are free of charge, we also offer a Breakfast Club from 7.45 am and After School Care through our "After School Club". Our Breakfast Club is available every day from 7.45 am for only 2.25 per day- we offer healthy breakfast choices.
We have two very experienced teachers who assist with our provision for Special Educational Needs. Mrs Doherty is the SENCO in school and is also one of the Learning Support Teachers. Mrs Hawkins is also a Learning Suppprt Teacher one day each week. We have a number of excellent Classroom Assistants and Special Educational Needs Assistants who may work with individuals or small groups of pupils.
