St James's Primary School and Nursery Unit is a vibrant, forward thinking, inclusive school in Newtownabbey. Services
Our Nursery Unit is an integrated nursery with places for 78 children (26 fulltime and 52 part-time). It is a filter nursery not only for St James's Primary School but also for schools in the local area.
In St James's Nursery Unit we aim to provide a happy, welcoming, stimulating and fun environment, where each child is valued and respected as an individual, encouraged to grow in confidence and self esteem and to develop to his/her full potential.Our Nursery Unit is a spacious and attractive environment located in a separate building within the school grounds.

St James's Primary School & Nursery Unit prides itself on having a very enthusiastic and energetic Parent Teacher Association (PTA). Have you got a child at our School, or are you a member of staff? Then you are already a member of the PTA. We are always looking for parents to come and be a part of our team.
At St James's Primary School we recognise how amazing the Internet is. It can open up a whole new world of learning and possibilities for our children. However, with so many fast paced changes it can be so difficult to keep up and ensure that our children are safe online. There are many sites that give excellent advice to parents on the steps you can take to protect your child so we have compiled a list to help you.

Most wonderful school! Staff go above & beyond for every pupil! I cannot recommend this school enough, the time, detail, love & compassion that goes into each pupil is just incredible! The staff are absolute superheroes, & the school is a large family unit ❤️ teachers do not get enough credit for the joy, happiness and intelligence that they provide & pass onto our children! 5* school.
