Stinchcombe Hill is a challenging golf course set on the southern edge of the Cotswold Escarpment above the Severn Valley.
The late Henry Longhurst rated Stinchcombe Hill Golf Club among the top most scenic courses in Europe. The course was formed in 1889 but re-designed by Fred Hawtree and later by James Braid. An excellent test for both low and high handicap golfers but regardless of how well you play, you will enjoy the views.

Services
We operate a tee booking system through our Club Shop and our staff will advise on the best times and availability. The Club Diary contains all tee reservations for competitions, matches and society bookings etc. Visitors are welcome to visit the clubhouse before or after golf to enjoy our hospitality.
Stinchcombe Hill Golf Club is located on the southern edge of the Cotswold escarpment above the Severn Valley. With breathtaking views the course was described by the late Henry Longhurst as one of the most scenic courses in Europe. The original layout of 9 holes opened in 1889 with a further 9 being completed in 1906.
Stinchcombe Hill Golf Club welcomes new members and at present we do not have a waiting list. With regular competitions, roll ups and social golf all new members become quickly integrated into the club. All of our 'sections' Ladies, Mens, Seniors and Juniors are fully integrated with a full programme of events.
Stinchcombe Hill Golf Club is located high up in the hills above the town of Dursley in Gloucestershire. Dursley is about 12 miles South of Gloucester and 25 miles North of Bristol. On entering the town from either direction, you are naturally led to the town centre at the roundabout enter May Lane, bear hard right at the Old Spot public house and up the hill as far as you can go.
Hilltop Cottage is located at Stinchcombe Hill Golf Club, on the southern edge of the Cotswold escarpment, above the Severn Valley. The course, dating back to 1889, offers breathtaking views and was described by the late Henry Longhurst as one of the most scenic courses in Europe. Guests are able to enjoy the course and club house whilst staying at the cottage.
