Services
The Captain Cook Inn offers a varied menu of home cooked meals and we try to cater for all dietry requirements, offering a selection of vegetarian and wheat free alternatives. The menu is offered throughout the day and evening and is supplemented by the specials board. Within the public house, the Captain Cook Inn offers a variety of real ale having up to five aleas on at a time.
The Captain Cook Inn offers accommodation of 9 newly refurbished en-suite rooms, some of which have spectacular views over Staithes and the Yorkshire Coast at reasonable prices. We have 6 double en-suite rooms and 3 family en-suite rooms (consisting of a double bed and two singles). All rooms have a large flat screen television with free view and tea and coffee making facilities.
An old picturesque cobbled fishing village nesling between the highest cliffs on the East Coat. The dinosaur coastline offers rich pickings for fossil and jet hunters and there is rock pooling available for the more feint hearted and children. Due to the tide and make up of the coastline Staithes offers an amazing surfing experience for the more practiced surfer.

We’ve been coming to Staithes for years and missed out on visiting this place for food. Today we visited and had two main courses. My wife had Fish and Chips, which is what she nearly always has when we dine out and she was very impressed, a good portion of flaky white fish in a very light batter. I had a HALF Parmo, and I’m relieved that I didn’t have a full one as the portions on both meals , both served with hand cut freshly cooked chips were very generous..
Delicious food, and well worth a visit

There is a big pay and display car park next door (£6 - 24hrs in the bottom car park, in case you have too much to drink). The staff in the Captain Cook Inn were very good, friendly and helpful, the tables well spaced out and clean. There was a choice of 3 or four beers (plus lager) which were well kept and served. I tried two hand pulled beers and had to have a 2nd pint of the IPA. The food was tasty and some meals, like the ribs, were huge. Good pub grub, but we were left wondering what the food in the Cod and Lobster would have been like, because we all fancied something a bit more exciting

A great place to stay or just pop in for a few drinks.
I was staying for four nights and had a great time. The team are brilliant and really friendly.
There's a good menu with plenty of choice as well a selection of ales.
The room was spacious and clean, and breakfast was plenty.
Not too far from Whitby or getting out into the countryside.
