Services
Our school is a small and friendly primary school, situated in beautiful surroundings and staffed by a dedicated team of talented and caring professionals. We offer a high quality, broad and balanced curriculum in a Catholic setting. We welcome children from the Catholic faith, other faiths and from families of no denomination.
St Joseph's is a caring community, a family growing in faith and belief with a love of learning. Create a safe and caring environment with positive relationships and high expectations, where our uniqueness is respected and celebrated and where we develop skills and confidence for an ever changing world.
The principal role of the Governing Body is to uphold the Catholic ethos and determine the overall strategic direction of the school. Governors regularly monitor and evaluate the performance of the school through meetings and visits. Governors appoint professional staff to fulfill the educational responsibilities of the school.
St. Joseph's has an active Parents Teachers and Friends Association (PTFA) that supports the Governing Body and school life as a whole. Throughout the year, the PTFA organise a range of events for children and adults with both social and fundraising elements. These events support and enhance the education of the children at St. Joseph's and provide opportunities for our community to socialise and have fun together.
St Joseph's is fortunate to be surrounded by some fantastic grounds. Over the past few years we have been able to use the grounds to support different Eco projects. Recently the children have designed an Eco garden complete with homes for bees and insects to take shelter in over the winter.
This and other initiatives have led to the school being awarded Gold in the Wildlife action awards scheme in 2013 and achieving the Silver Gilt award in 2014 with RHS Britain in Bloom.
