My name is Mrs Gilroy and I am the Head teacher. I am involved with both classes as often as I can with my favourite subjects being Music, PE and Maths. I love to run and read in my 'spare' time, generally spending as much time outdoors as I can! My name is Mrs Evans and I teach within the Early Years of School in the Foundation Stage and Key Stage 1 class.
FOPS (Friends of Pendock School) are a group of parents, carers, grandparents, governors and staff who give their time to create better learning experiences for our children at Pendock. As well as raising much-needed funds that help improve our school, the social events we run bring the whole community together.
We aim to provide a broad, balanced and stimulating curriculum that is relevant to the children's needs. We follow the Early Years Foundation Stage Curriculum, which is split into 3 Prime areas and 4 Specific areas. Personal, Social and Emotional Development - self confidence and self-awareness, making relationships, managing feelings and behaviour.
Schools are now allocated a sum of money to support the provision for children from low income families. The purpose of the funding is to support pupils to make good progress. The school receives funding that is provided to schools to fund improvements to the provision of PE, sport and to support children to develop healthy lifestyles.
The school runs a reasonably priced breakfast club every morning, with a selection of healthy options. Ideal for working parents and children who can't wait to get to school in the morning! You will be welcomed by Mrs Tooze who will offer you a choice of cereals, fruit juice, toast, various spreads and fresh fruit.
