At Plantation Primary School in Halewood we are a thriving community with a deeply caring ethos at the heart of everything we do. We have high expectations for both the academic and social development of our pupils and we aim to ensure our children get lots of educational experiences and learn to be kind, caring people underpinned by our Super Values: RESPECT, DETERMINATION, KINDNESS, HONESTY (read about our Super Values journey here.)
We value creativity and enjoyment in all lessons and as such were awarded The School Games Gold award in 2018, Knowsley Schools for Health Gold Award for the second time in 2017, recognising our work to ensure our pupils and community lead active, healthy lifestyles. We also have Arts Mark Award Silver 2018 (recognising our work in the Performing Arts).

We are so excited to see you all and we are looking forward to a great year ahead together. Please check our class page regularly for any important updates. The children have settled into Year Two fantastically and I am so excited for our year ahead! Please check our class page regularly for updates and photos of some of the exciting things we get up to in class. Children will be given multiple reading books to take home with their School Planner. Please comment in the planner when you have listened to your child read.
On the days that your child has a PE lesson we ask that they come to school in their PE/Games kit. They will wear this kit for the whole day instead of their uniform. Please ensure your child comes to school in the correct PE kit with a plain tracksuit and trainers to wear for the whole day. Children should not be attending school in replica sports kits, such as football kits.
I am thrilled to be joining the year 5 team this year and I am looking forward to the exciting year we have ahead. I hope you will join me in helping make sure it is a successful one too! On our class page you will find some useful information and our class blogs, which will give you up-to-date action from '5C'.
To promote and provide exciting, engaging sporting opportunities, so that our children leave our school with the knowledge of how to lead a healthy lifestyle and the desire to be life-long participants in physical activity. At Plantation Primary, we aim to make P.E and sport an integral part of our children's lives, as we believe in the positive impact it can have on our children's health, their social skills and their self-esteem.
