A warm welcome to Malmesbury C of E Primary School. We take pride in our vision statement and our school. Our website has useful information about our school's organisation, and shows some of the exciting learning opportunities your child will be involved in. Any leave or absence from school will not be authorised unless circumstances are 'exceptional'.
Services
Welcome to the website of Malmesbury Church of England Primary School. I hope you find it interesting and informative. This is a happy community, where we develop rounded children with a love of learning and the confidence to meet life's challenges. Our ethos is summed up in the statement 'Growing together in wisdom and love; discovering life in all its fullness.'
Our school is called a 'two form entry' school which means we have two classes for every year group. We structure our classes into 'Mileposts' so that teachers can support one another by planning in teams. The Reception classes are collectively known as EYFS (Early Years Foundation Stage). Milepost 1 comprises the Year 1 and Year 2 pupils.
Following widespread consultation of pupils, parents, staff and governors we have developed a new school vision statement. Some of our aims have been achieved already and others are under way. Most are things we will work on over the coming 2 to 3 years. Some will require longer term planning, harder work and real determination to achieve in a 5 year timescale.
Here at Malmesbury Primary School we are lucky enough to have two library spaces, and an extensive selection of lovely books. In the Reception and Year 1 area we have the Storyland library, where the walls are decorated with much-loved book characters. Upstairs in the Junior Library the books are organised by author surname for fiction, and by subject for the non-fiction shelves.
Governing bodies are responsible for working with the school to ensure that it delivers a good quality education. Together with the Headteacher, who is responsible for day-to-day management, the governors set the school's aims and policies. To ensure accountability for the educational performance of the school and its pupils, and the performance management of staff.

Report
Today, with my business Immersive Theatres, I delivered a 7m digital planetarium experience to 650 children and adults at Malmesbury Primary School. I was warmly welcomed by the staff and found the hall prepared just as I had requested. The day was well organised with all 13 groups arriving on time. The excited students, scouts and family groups enjoyed a rich selection of content: peering up at the planetarium night sky; visiting the International Space Station; handling a famous meteorite and learning about a future colonised Solar System and how British scientists search for real aliens.
