The pre-school is situated behind St Barnabas Community Hall. We have two well equipped and spacious buildings, little bees is for our 2 year old children and big bees is for the 3-5 year old children, children have transition sessions as they are preparing to move rooms. We have a secure outside area and a woodland area to allow children to play and learn in the outdoor environment.
We offer a range of exciting activities and equipment is provided to enable each child to learn, experience and develop at their own individual level. Children learn to respect the needs of others, acceptable social behaviour and manners, i.e. sharing, tidiness, co-operation, self-dressing, toilet training, and respond to daily routines.

We recognise the importance of play as a structured learning process and hope to provide every opportunity for children to learn through play in a happy, safe and relaxed atmosphere with companions of a similar age.
We aim to give the children the best start to their education by providing a broad curriculum including Pre-school focussed activities, (inc name writing, letter and number recognition, scissor and pencil control etc), PE sessions and much more which is all well planned stimulating and purposeful and covers the seven areas of learning for their Foundation Stage.

Our daughter Faith has just come to the end of her time at Barnabees pre school and I can not praise the staff enough for being just wonderful. She’s learnt so much and made so many friends whilst being here and has had a lot of fun adventures in their out side woodland area. Barnabees staff Alway welcome you with a smile, always approachable, warm, friendly and professional. Faith has really enjoyed her time at Barnabees and we would recommend it to anyone looking for a nursery or preschool 🥰 xx

My little boy attended barnabees for 2 years and in that time he has blossomed. It’s such a fantastic place with so much space for the children to play in. The staff are so friendly and welcoming and I can’t thank them enough for making my little boys time in nursery the best experience. We will miss attending as he goes on to start school now. Highly recommend to anyone who is interested in sending their child here.

Thank you for looking after our daughter for the past year and helping her to prepare for school. Hermione has really grown in confidence and has started to come out of her shell. Your staff are amazing - so kind and caring and nothing was too much for our daughter. Your day-to-day activities are fabulous - very well planned, educational and… stimulating. Your outdoor activities and forest school are second to none. Hermione has really loved going to Barnabees - our older son was gutted that he was a few years too old to go! This is Barnabee's preschool..everyone here loves the job they do and value every child. Parents and carers have loved the changes to the new woodland area, which has a vast space for exploring and learning with an additional large area on the playground.
