Dartmouth Pre-school was established in 1961 and has been operating from its home at Southford Road Schoolrooms, in the heart of the close-knit community of Dartmouth, ever since. Our setting provides high quality care and education for preschool children, adding to the life and well being of our local community.
Dartmouth Pre-school was completely refurbished in 2016, and now has a purpose built play room with a balcony for free-flow outdoor play. We also have a secluded and secure outdoor play area where the children can plant flowers and vegetables. Highly recommend this nursery. My daughter has settled in so quickly thanks to such a friendly and helpful team.

Services
Dartmouth Pre-school has been at the heart of the close-knit Dartmouth community for over 50 years. We are a small and friendly school with warm and welcoming team of qualified staff. We are run by a dedicated parent committee whose members are elected by the parents of the children who attend Dartmouth Pre-school.
All children are eligible for up to 15 hours Early Years Funding from the term after their 3rd birthday. Some parents may be able to claim 2 year old funding from the term after their child's second birthday. Fees for additional sessions are 12 per morning or afternoon, or 14 for our extended Thursday morning session.
Nurseries, pre-schools, reception classes and childminders registered to deliver the EYFS must follow a legal document called the Early Years Foundation Stage Framework. Ofsted regulates and inspects to achieve excellence in the care of children and young people, and in education and skills for learners of all ages.
The Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) is how the Government and early years professionals describe the time in your child's life between birth and age 5. This is a very important stage as it helps your child get ready for school as well as preparing them for their future learning and successes.
