Merry Go Round Preschool in Stokenham, Devon is a magical, joyful place where children are free to run, play and discover and be loved and accepted for who they are. Services
Provide a nurturing, child-led, supportive environment which focuses on the emotional wellbeing of the children in order to maximise their development. Celebrate the individuality of every child and to engage them in ways that are appropriate and meaningful to them. Encourage a play-based learning environment which supports healthy brain development, curiosity, exploration and confidence.
Merry Go Round Preschool is an independent, charity preschool run by a passionate team of staff and committee members, all of who are committed to making Merry Go Round the best it possibly can be for nurturing our young children. We are committed to creating a positive, team environment where our staff feel valued and enabled to grow and reach their full potential.
We take children between the ages of 2 and 5 years of age. We accept Early Years Entitlement Funding and those children entitled to the extended 30 hours funding in partnership with Devon County Council. This funding starts the term after the child's third birthday and can give you access to up to 15 or 30 hours of childcare.
At Merry Go Round Preschool we have a very strong belief in the importance of learning through play, particularly in the outdoors. Being in the outdoors has all sorts of benefits for mental health and wellbeing, as well as utilising the natural environment to encourage creativity, exploration and discovery.
Merry Tots Baby and Toddler Group is a very happy and nurturing environment, run by a qualified member of the preschool team each Thursday morning during term time in our fabulous preschool setting. It offers everything you and your little ones will need for indoor and outdoor adventures, where imaginations can soar and friends can be made.

My son attended Merry Go Round from 2 - 4 years old, when he left for primary school. The preschool and it's staff have a wonderful attitude towards nurturing the children in their care. As a parent, I was well supported with any concerns and included in decisions.
The setting allows children to play indoors and outdoors, builds their confidence and helps them achieve new skills without any pressure. My son loved the large sandpit, indoor activities and story time. Merry Go Round also offer a fabulous Forest School session each week. The children are able to enjoy the outdoors under the supervision

My daughter went here and loved it! The staff are lovely and really friendly and the children grow and develop as individuals thanks to the care and ethos at Merry Go Round.The outdoor area is amazing with woodland area and huge sandpit,inside is full of resources for the children to play with aswell,would highly recommend to anyone looking for a pre school for their child.
