Services
The staff work as a team, with each member (listed below), having the responsibility for a specific area to ensure the efficient day-to-day running of the Pre-School. We have a designated SENCO, Health and Safety/Hygiene Officer, Child Safeguarding and Behavioural Management Advisors. With all full time members of staff having First Aid Certificates, the Pre-School has First Aid cover at all times.
Here you can find information about all the activities that the children participate in throughout their time at our Pre-School. This includes the activities that cover the seven areas of the Early Years Foundation Stage, our newly-established inter-generational visits and our Forest School trips with those children in their final term before they go to school.
Our curriculum is planned to cover all the areas set out in the new Early Years Foundation Stage. To develop children's' communication 'and language skills we daily provide opportunities for children to listen and enjoy stories, interact with children and adults and develop writing skills.
Circle time and role-play in particular give opportunities for the children to increase their communication skills by interacting, negotiating, planning and learning to take turns in conversation. To develop fine and gross manipulative skills we provide a range of activities from jigsaws, threading and construction toys to dance, exercising to tapes, and games using small apparatus for both indoor and outdoor exercise.

Each summer term we take the children who will be leaving us that summer to a designated area in Primley Woods for 4 or 5 sessions of Forest School. This has proved very popular with the children who have really enjoying exploring and taking part in a variety of outdoor activities that we cannot provide during a normal session back at our setting.
We now take a group of six children each week for a couple of hours to visit a group of the residents and engage in different activities, this has proved very popular with everyone involved. Below is an articlefrom the Nursery World magazine about our visits.
