Stokenham Pre-School has been providing a welcoming, happy and safe environment for pre-school children to learn, play and develop for over forty five years (established in 1972), and has proudly served the local community ever since. We are a friendly and successful independent pre-school and are happily situated within the grounds of Stokenham Area Primary School.
We have a large building with two rooms for work and play and also benefit from a large outdoor area. Our building is fully insulated and double glazed with eco friendly heating and electrics. Our outdoor space benefits from a beautiful green oak canopied area so that we can play outside come rain or shine.

Services
Starting pre-school, can trigger lots of different emotions in children and their parents. For some children they are happy, confident and excited at the prospect of being a 'big girl or boy' and going to school, and will embrace all aspects of pre-school life without a backwards glance. But for other children, it can be a time of feeling sad, scared or nervous at being in a new environment, and they will become upset.
A requirement of being a charitable status, is that Pre-school must be managed by a volunteer committee. So we really appreciate the time and effort our committee members give as the Pre-School relies on their commitment to maintain it's charitable status, and of course to keep up to date with all the requirements to enable the running of a successful Pre-School.
Our session runs from 9.30am, but we understand that as a lot of parents drop off older siblings at the primary school for 9.15am, there is a 15 minute gap, so as to compensate for this we open our doors for 9.15am. Please ensure your child is dropped off and collected at the correct times unless you have made a prior arrangement.

Stokenham pre school... what a fantastic place.
We visited a number of childcare settings before we popped in to see Julie and her lovely team. The second we walked inside the colourful gate we knew it was the place to be.
With a warm, welcoming building and brilliant outdoor area we can’t fault it.
Daughter number 2 is currently with them and… she loves it, as did daughter number 1 who was with them from the age of 2 until leaving for school - she still asks now if she can collect her sister so see can see Julie, Tracy, Lucy and Abby. And much to her disgrace her baby sister gets

A fantastic preschool, both my children have thoroughly enjoyed attending; they'd go everyday if they could!. A great learning environment with large classrooms and huge outdoor play area with undercover all weather zone. Fabulous staff that are really attentive and caring, always happy to help you/ offer advice. I loved the Friday parent & baby sessions as it really helped ease my kids into attending alone aged2.

I have sent all for of my children to the preschool ages 20, 18, 6 and 2. It is well established and friendly. All of the staff are very helpful and friendly. And over the years are more then willing to listen and offer his advise. I always know my children are in safe hands. They are always doing different activity. And my children have thrived and more on very well to primary school and been well equipped for this move. Thankyou Stokenham preschool.

I have had children in Stokenham Preschool for 5 years. The staff are friendly and professional. The activities that the children do throughout the day are imaginative and enjoyable. Outside they have an undercover play area for rainy days, a wooden adventure course, lots of sensory toys and a large sandpit. My children have been very happy here.
