All our practitioners are qualified from NVQ level 3 in Childcare to Level 4 Early years advanced practitioner. The Nursery Nurses and all staff are dedicated and are sensitive to the needs of the individual children. Staff are encouraged to participate in courses and further their professional development.
Many have attended an Emergency Paediatric First Aid Course. The Nursery operates a key person system. A key person has special responsibilities for working with a small number of children, giving them the reassurance to feel safe and cared for whilst building strong relationships with their parents.

We are a small, independent Nursery in Balham and we pride ourselves on creating a rich, stimulating environment where children are happy and eager to learn. As a close team of childcare professionals we are dedicated to the education, care and well being of your child. At Wellington's we recognise that every child is a competent learner who can be resilient, capable, confident and self assured.
This is where our children develop a thirst for learning as they independently investigate and carry out self selected activities, with experienced adults on hand to support their education. Low level units, with an emphasis on real and natural resources, enable children to lead their own play agendas and learning journeys.
Our baby room provides a calm, homely environment where our youngest children are encouraged to explore, using their senses and growing mobility. Resources such as treasure baskets promote heuristic play and low level storage and displays keep everything within sight and reach.
With our warm and rich surroundings our tiniest tots experience an array of natural resources, as well as musical and interactive activities to ignite their senses, social skills and curiosity.We organise the day and the care to fit in with the routine of the baby and parent/carer. The infant room is a bright and happy place with plenty of time for play and cuddles in between naps.

Our children have access to a safe and secure, enclosed outdoor area. Children are encouraged to take an interest in their world and care for nature through activities such as bird-watching, discovering minibeasts or growing plants and flowers, fruits and vegetables. We feel passionate about outdoor learning and believe children should be more in touch with nature.
All of the food served to the children is prepared and cooked on site by our fully qualified chef, Miss Ben. We ensure the food is nutritious healthy and varied - not to mention delicious. As well as breakfast on arrival, we serve a morning snack, lunch and afternoon tea. This ensures the children are fully fueled for a fun packed day!
