Ethro's was established by Matthew Etherington in 2013 and has gone from strength to strength. Family run and contract free, you will find Ethro's GYM in the town centre of Ashbourne, Derbyshire. The GYM has something to offer every type of gym user, from beginners to advanced, free weights to functional, its all covered for you.
There's personal trainers on hand when you need them and a great vibrant, welcoming atmosphere. Whilst we're known locally as being Ashbourne's number one gym for free weights, we also understand that this isn't for everyone which is why we've dedicated a room separate to the rest of the gym solely for cardio and functional training.

I'm a fully qualified level 3 Personal Trainer and food nutritionist, a level 2 instructor with MMA fitness and a second dan black belt in Kempo Jujitsu with a Sensei at a local Dojo which I have been training towards since 2012. This is a well-equipped gym with plenty of free weights and some things that my larger, commercial gym does not have, e.g. a hack squat machine. When I went the gym was very quiet and there was no problem accessing what I needed for my workout. A very friendly welcome from Howard and Matthew. Plenty of cleaning supplies and towels for cleaning down equipment. If you are serious about weight training, this is a good place to come.

While In need of a gym while visiting Ashbourne from London I popped by to check out Ethros. Incredibly friendly and welcoming and a proper weightlifters gym - I could not have been happier. Well worth a visit if you are passing by and I would certainly be a long term member if I lived in the Ashbourne area!
