The Bath School of Shiatsu & Yoga was founded in the year 2000; the result of a wish to combine the powerful and mutually beneficial arts of Shiatsu and Yoga. Alongside drop-in yoga classes, the main focus of the school is a three-year professional Shiatsu training, leading to a nationally recognized qualification as a practitioner.
During the shiatsu training, students are also taught a thorough grounding in Yoga techniques. In order to maintain the highest standard of teaching and learning, the class size on the shiatsu training course is limited to fourteen. The course covers many areas of Oriental medicine, and more traditional Western anatomy, physiology, pathology and counselling skills, all supported by comprehensive notes, continuous assessment and exams.

Shiatsu is a traditional form of bodywork originating from Japan. Based on the acupuncture energetic system, the aim in Shiatsu is to wake up and rebalance the body's natural flow of energy or ki. This is achieved through a combination of stretching, holding and gently manipulating the receiver's body, focusing on the classical meridians (energy channels) and acupressure points.
One of the oldest and most practiced forms of self-development, yoga is a very comprehensive system that also aims to balance and strengthen the body and the mind. Originating in India, and evolving as a way of relaxing the body to enable deeper meditation, a series of different postures (Asana) and breaths (Pranayama) were devised.
Classes run throughout the year and are generally held at Still Point, in the centre of Bath, five minutes from the bus and train stations. All the teachers are qualified in their relevant fields, and although we will draw on a pool of knowledge, the aim is to offer continuity and support throughout the course.
Surveys continue to demonstrate the loss of morale and productivity due to stress, and that stress-management is an important part of any successful business. Having worked in stress management over the last twenty years, Frank Davis and his team offer a wealth of experience and expertise. Because of the nature of Shiatsu, Yoga and general stress management techniques we are able to offer a wide range of options.
His attention to detail has been invaluable to me and helped to really assimilate core teachings. The other thing I am a little bit in love with this week? He amazingly manages to teach all levels at once whilst not pressuring you to do more than you are able, making everyone feel like they are getting personal attention at every stage, and, reassuringly makes it okay to look silly and laugh.

I’ve tried many yoga classes over the last 20 years of my practice, and in my opinion Frank's classes embody every aspect of yoga that I could hope for. He is down to earth and grounded in his teaching, but his presence radiates such open kindness and care of each individual, that it just inspires you to be your best self. To find someone with such warmth who can make yoga so accessible and enjoyable is a rare gift, and Frank gives it generously. His classes feel like the perfect balance of clear instruction and enlightened wisdom and are clearly backed up with a wealth of experience. He moves

I have been attending Frank's yoga classes since I was a student at the University of Bath 18 years ago and when in Bath always return to him. He has set the standard for yoga class for me, I'm not the only one as most of his students have been with him for over 10 years! What is fantastic is the class is mixed levels of ability, age and gender. He is the most experienced teacher in Bath and an excellent guide. He calmly and gently talks us through the postures to ensure we get the most benefit from our session. He is very observant and will gently adjust you when necessary. Frank provides a friendly
