A warm, clean and peaceful haven in the heart of Bath. Established by Richard and Kirsten Agar Ward in 2000 it has gone from strength to strength and has developed into a vibrant centre for excellence in yoga in the south west. We offer weekly classes in asana (posture) and pranayama (breath & energy control), and special weekend workshops and retreats.
Our online shop sells yoga props and clothing. Our studios are fully equipped so there's no need to bring anything (though you are welcome to bring your own mat if you prefer). You'll then be able to book foundation courses & special events. To book regular weekly classes you will also need to join as a member of the Centre.

Services
All our teachers are fully certificated and experienced IYENGAR Yoga teachers so you can be sure of safe teaching. IYENGAR teaching certificates are internationally recognised and are a benchmark of excellence. The Iyengar method is systematic and thorough. It is carefully structured so you make safe and steady progress.
Richard and Kirsten run the Centre and teach the classes. We also have a select group of other fully certificated and experienced Iyengar Yoga teachers who may teach classes when we are teaching overseas. From time to time some parts of some classes may be taught by our trainee teachers under Kirsten or Richard's direct supervision.
For many years we have offered successful courses at Introductory, Junior and Senior levels with the aim of helping you develop your practice and through this your teaching. Preparing for assessments is only a very small part of this lifelong process. We offer an extensive programme of intensives open to all practitioners with the specified experience.
Iyengar Yoga practitioners from elsewhere may join our online classes without membership but please email us before booking to indicate how much Iyengar Yoga experience you have and who your regular teacher is. Have your yoga props available. When you complete the course you receive three months' free membership of the Centre and may join any level 1 or level 1/2 class.
Access to the Centre's online booking system and via this to regular classes at the Centre. To book classes, a special event at members' rate or receive any of the above benefits, you must be a member at the time of booking and during the entire period of the event you're booking. If your membership is due to lapse in the middle of a course or event then you need to renew it immediately to keep your place.

Highly recommended. I look forward to yoga each week.
I went with a back injury and have been carefully looked after whilst also progressing forward with new and ever challenging yoga poses. The teachers are both highly experienced with a lifetimes knowledge of yoga, so if you do go with injuries like I did you are in very knowledgeable and safe hands.
Read about the different types of yoga and choose the one that suits you. For me it's most definitely Iyengar.
