Our yoga practice is at the heart of everything we do, rooted in science & shared with joy. The fundamental ethos of Bristol School of Yoga is shaped by Laura's extensive experience of inquiry, experimentation and adaptation. We respect the genius of the original yogis as a way to enhance our understanding of body and mind through contemporary science.
At Bristol School of Yoga, we believe that the realm of yoga is infinite, one where there is space for staying true to the integrity of the tradition, while simultaneously exploring what neurology, functional training, health research and sports science can reveal to us about the physical and subtle nature of the human condition.

As much as I knew I had come a long way on my 200 hours and had learnt so much I still had so many questions and so much to explore. I knew that I could go off by myself and read the books, do the practice, but I also felt that I'd benefit from the supportive environment of BSY and the excellent teachers there to help guide me.
Book your classes directly with your teacher, existing Bristol City Yoga passes can be used for Laura's classes only. All social distancing & in-studio safety is still in place, such as wearing a mask at all times apart from on your yoga mat. Take a look at our studio procedures here. More classes coming very soon!

I'm on their 300 hour YTT and i'm loving it. Laura's experience and teaching weaves in so many things that i will take out into my own teaching - work around the nervous system, body mobility, gentle weaving in of the spiritual philosophy of yoga. I would recommend this to anyone looking to level up their teaching and feel a part of a supportive community of people looking to grow along the same lines. Ashley was also a great additional teacher on some of the courses.

If you're thinking you want to know more about yoga...look no further! I highly recommend BSY. They will take you on a journey to change your life for the better (whether you're wanting to teach or just deepen you're knowledge). They've got it all!
I became one of Laura Gilmore's yoga students back in 2012 & was instantly hooked! She has a fantastic skill of welcoming everyone, holding a safe space for experience & learning, & endlessly inspires a stronger thirst for her mass of incredible knowledge. After attending a few of her classes at Bristol City Yoga I knew I wanted Laura to teach me to

I have found classes at Bristol City Yoga and courses at Bristol School of Yoga to be of a very high standard. Laura leads with a dynamic, thoughtful and intelligent approach that combines insight from current developments in areas such as fascia and the influence of the nervous system with a practice grounded in the strong roots of yoga’s history. Her classes are always challenging and nourishing. Her real passion for yoga is shown in the creativity and quality of her teaching.
I discovered Laura’s classes at the beginning of the Covid 19 lockdown and have followed her classes and training

Laura's training with Bristol School of Yoga is fantastic, Laura has so much to offer in knowledge, experience and creating a space conducive to learning and fun. I have completed my 200 hours Hatha teacher training and am half way through the 500 hours teacher training and the course just seem to get better and better. I have learnt so much, felt fully supported and have used what I have learnt in my class plans pretty much immediately after each intensive. I have loved all of them but my fav was the bandhas! I cannot recommend BSY enough.

I have recently completed the 200 hour teacher training course at BSY and the quality of the course was excellent and I would highly recommend. Led by fantastic and inspirational teachers whose knowledge and passion shined throughout in their teachings! I am grateful to have been able to deepen and explore my practice in a supportive environment among b teachers and to have graduated from the course feeling prepared for the world of teaching. Thank you BSY!

I completed my 200 hour teacher training course with BSY in December 2020. The school and staff are so warm and welcoming, especially our course leader and mentor Laura Gilmore. The depth of knowledge and experience Laura has is another level, I was so honoured I got to experience this first hand, and so grateful she was my teacher! The course is also so in depth and I learnt so much more than I expected. Yes hard work, but totally worth it!

I studied my 200hr Teacher Training with Laura and her team. What a fantastic experience it was. I felt supported and comfortable through the whole process. Laura offers so many fabulous courses from foundation all the way through to advanced so there really is something for everyone, whether you want to deepen your own knowledge and practice or… whether you’d like to become a teacher. The ongoing support I’ve had after the course has also been exceptional. What a wonderful life changing experience and I am so grateful for Laura and the BSY team/ experience 🙏🏼

I trained with Laura Gilmore and other teachers in 2019-2020 to become a 200hr qualified Hatha Yoga Teacher. The experience was life changing. The quality of the training is the best I’ve received. The level of the support from the group continues to keep me going through trying times and the knowledge I gained and memories I have will stay with me for a lifetime. I wholeheartedly recommend BSY and BCY

I embarked on my 200 hour YTT with Bristol School of Yoga in 2015. I found the quality of teaching and shared knowledge consistently inspiring and informative. Laura has a talent for breaking down Yoga asana in a way that is accessible and easy to remember. She is also extremely knowledgable about the spiritual side to the practice and every student is taught how vital the true essence of yoga is along with being mindful about how important the roots of yoga are and the wonderful culture that created it.
I love that Laura felt so authentic throughout. We had a big group and I found some life-long

Bristol city yoga is a fabulous yoga studio. All the teachers I have used have been super professional and show a real expertise in their teaching. The classes are wonderful, the intensives/workshops are great. The teacher training is one of the best in the UK (I am biased because I've done their teacher training but just want to share how much I rate them - I am a musculoskeletal physiotherapist and yoga teacher).

Bristol School of Yoga run by Laura Gilmore and her fabulous team is an exceptional place you learn about Yoga. Whether it be a foundation course just to deepen your own practice or to become a Yoga Teacher, Laura shares her amazing knowledge and creates truly transformational courses. I personally travelled quite a distance to learn with Laura as her reputation precedes her and am so glad I did. I look forward to learning more with Laura again soon. I cannot recommend enough.

I attended the 'Art of Adjustment' intensive in April. It really helped my confidence with adjusting, acting as a reminder on some things I had touched on before in my 200hr course, but also new tips and approaches on how to read the body and adjust acordingly.
I really enjoyed being in the learning environment again and Laura's teaching was both informative and fun. Testing out what we had learned with volunteer students on the Saturday was probabaly the highlight for me, as it allowed us to work with lots of different bodies and really get to grips with how to adapt your adjustments depending
