Our Playgroup has a wide catchment area, attracting children from Great Rollright, Swerford, Wigginton, Milcombe and Bloxham, as well as from Hook Norton itself. We have funded places for three year olds, and in addition to pre-school services we offer School Holiday Clubs and After School Clubs for children aged up to 11. Further details are included in our parents information pack which can be downloaded or below, or please contact us for more information.
Services
Our setting is an incorporated charity and as such is managed by a volunteer group of seven trustees - Julie Riley, Sue Monelle, Sian Arnold, Shelley White, Beth Rolls, Craig Devin and Jessica Binnie. The trustees within HNPPG give up their free time voluntarily to support the setting, it is a challenging but rewarding role and does come with many legal responsibilities.
Children learn through play in a safe stimulating environment. The toys and equipment at Playgroup provide opportunities for children, with adult support, to develop new skills and concepts in the course of their play and exploration. The equipment we provide is appropriate for the ages and stages of the children and offers challenges to developing physical, social, personal and intellectual skills.
We provide a choice of milk or water to drink. We ask that your child bring a piece of fruit for our fruit bowl, which is shared between the children. Please let us know if your child has any special dietary needs or allergies and whether you have any specific preferences for drinks. For those children attending Lunch Club a cold packed lunch is to be provided by parents/carers.
We also have Playgroup Rules, a set of guidelines for the safety and smooth running of the group. 8. Following safeguarding policies, we ask that all mobile phones are not in use whilst you are on playgroup premises. The staff, trustees and visitors also have to follow this rule and keep their mobile phones in a locked safe.
The fees are payable half-termly in arrears. Fees must still be paid if children are absent without notice for a short period of time. If your child has to be absent over a long period of time, talk to Julie who is the manager. We also accept childcare vouchers and will be part of the Government Tax Free childcare scheme when it starts.
