Bloxham Village Museum
The Bloxham Village Museum is a small but fascinating museum in the centre of Bloxham village near Banbury. The Museum was established in 1980 and celebrates the history of the village. It collects today for tomorrow, items with a Bloxham significance, particularly related to the period when Bloxham was a self-supporting community.

The Museum is open from Easter to October and has a new exhibition every year so our visitors are able to access as much of the collection as possible. Our exhibitions are designed to appeal to all ages and we always have a free quiz for children to enjoy. The Museum sells a variety of local interest publications.
Services
In line with Government guidelines the Museum will open with safety measures in place to protect our visitors and volunteers. The Courthouse has an interesting history of its own and items from the past can still be seen. The museum houses the soup boilers which were installed in 1847. These were used to provide soup to villagers in times of agricultural depression during the 19th century.
The museum sells a number of fascinating books about the history of Bloxham. Find out more about the railway which ran through Bloxham from 1875 until 1962, the schools in Bloxham or the fire brigade. Follow one of the described walks in the book 'Exploring old Bloxham' or find out more about the history of the village and its families in 'Bloxham Village and Folk' or 'The Heart of Bloxham'.
Every year Bloxham Village Museum has a new and exciting exhibition for our visitors to enjoy. Check the What's On page for details. The usual open season for the Museum is 2:30pm - 5pm Saturday - Sunday and Bank Holiday Mondays between Easter Sunday and the last day of British Summer Time, usually the last Saturday in October.
