Havering Museum
Initially we will be open two days a week on Wednesday and Fridays from 11am till 5pm, last entry is 4pm. If there are no visitors onsite after 4pm we may shut up early. If you are making a special visit to the Museum, we'd advise you to phone first before leaving home. We are running with a smaller team of volunteers than usual and if they get asked to isolate we may not have enough staff to open safely.

If you are making a special visit to the Museum, we'd advise you to phone first. These monthly workshops were sell outs when we ran them last year and there are only a limited number of seats available. We are also please to announce that our Variety Club and Reminiscence sessions have restarted.

Keep up-to-date with the Museum's latest programme of exhibitions, talks and events, including the popular regular Reminiscence, Variety Club and Photographic Group. At each event attendees will either, learn a new skill, listen to a talk or get involved in an activity. A Commemorative and informative walk around Hornchurch Country Park, formerly RAF Hornchurch and Sutton's Farm.
We welcome group visits or guided tours (10 people or more) at 2.00 per head. On request, we will also provide reasonably priced tea, coffee and biscuits at the end of your visit. By Car: M25, junction 29 and follow the A127 towards London for approximately 2 miles until you reach the Gallows corner flyover and roundabout.
The Museum shop is situated just inside the entrance and is free to visit at any time the Museum is open to the public. Along with books we have a selection of Havering Museum souvenir mugs, pencils, fridge magnets and guide book.
Havering Museum has a team of enthusiastic and committed volunteers who help with its day to day running and assist with special projects. We have a core team of over 50 dedicated volunteers who work across a variety of areas including, Collections, Education, Events, Front of House and Administration.
Havering Museum is a local independent heritage Museum, which is a registered charity, run by volunteers, with 12 Directors with business, education, law and curatorial backgrounds. The Museum relies on the support of sponsors, grants and local people. We need your help to enrich our galleries and Collections, conserve exhibits, buy objects and support our work with schools and the older people of our borough.

I have yet to actually go to the Museum, but today had cause to make a telephone enquiry regarding some research into my Grandfather. I spoke to a very helpful lady, Ellen Owen. She gave me pointers on where to look for information as well as suggesting other people to contact. She couldn't have done more. Thanks very much.

I am a volunteer here on a Friday. It's an amazing history book of Havering. Come and join us, just to visit or join our popular reminiscence group on a Friday.

I attended a Halloween event here today with my 3 year old son and 1 year old daughter. It was so much fun and the staff were so friendly! There were toys, books and fancy dress for the kids to use in the main part of the museum too, so we will definitely be attending again. Thank you to all the staff for a lovely day x

Visited there yesterday. The volunteers are very knowledgeable about the area and really went out of their way to find out extra info. I wanted to know more about Rainham Hall, and one of the staff went and printed out a load of info for me to read about it.
The museum is very informative on the different towns in Havering, and I would recommend others to visit.

As History Coordinator at a school and taking multiple school trips here, representatives coming into school and even having an INSET led by the people at Havering Museum I can definitely say the team and resources here are invaluable to children's learning of the local area. The staff are always so accommodating and the children love the interactivity of the displays and the jam packed presentations of facts they've learnt whilst visiting the museum. Great place for schools to build up a long standing relationship with!
