We were running late & hadn’t booked in advance (book one day in advance) so we bought the membership. Worth every pound, because we’ll be definitely going back again! 2 1/2 hours are far from enough, this place has so much to offer.

It's interesting to see the evolution of london and some of the big historical events. In my option the curation would have been better if they explain things further with more milestone events would have been better for audiences who weren't from the uk.

An impressive work to tell the history of London very visually while showcasing the historical findings including many mud-larked from the Thames. Some parts were more attractive than others, especially for children, because of the interactive aspect. My 8 year old liked the Roman life exhibits (especially the food) and the Victorian feel shops and places in particular. It would have been really great to have something more interactive for the Anglo Saxon and the medieval time as well.

Although uncomfortably hot upstairs the museum was great. Easy to complete in a few hours and not be overwhelmed.

Good museum with some eclectic stuff in it! Cromwell’s Death Mask. Samuel Pepys’ plate. Nelson’s Sword of Honour. Queen Victoria’s Golden Jubilee Bonnet. For free admission, you can’t knock it really. I supported the museum by purchasing from the shop. The museum is moving from its current site next to the Barbican soon.

Museum has some good and some kinda boring exhibits. However this is personal choice. For me, not being a Londoner it wasn't all for me. However was very informative. I preferred the later part where there was more fun things there. I did feel the guy explaining they were a charity at the beginning a bit much. We and I'm sure most people understand that these places are relying on funding and donations. However we would prefer to donate in peace without feeling forced. After all the tickets were free, it's the least we can do is spare money for them. As I'm sure most will feel the same.

Did you know that the history of London dates back nearly half a million years! I didn't until I visited the museum of London. If you're a history buff this is the place for you. Loads of walking so good experience. Loads of fascinating exhibitions. Activities for kids. This place a great, well worth a visit. Free entry but please donate £5 to help them stay open. 5 minutes walk from St Paul's tube station.

There was so much information in this museum! It was overwhelming! So much to look at, touch, and learn. Being from America, I learned so much about London's history. I recommend spending a few hours in here at least. It's always free ent

It needs to be said: The Museum of London features lots of old things unearthed from the ground. Shells, rocks, spearheads, and anything else that might be found in the soil, riverbanks, and land that's been occupied since prehistoric times. If that's your thing, the Museum of London is your place.

Though I'm not much into ancient history, the Museum of London is organized chronologically so unless you plan carefully your attention span may evaporate by the time you get to more recent history. So plan carefully.

After methodically going through London's extensive ancient

Really great coverage of the roman period of london and the cities origins. The medieval period is pretty sparse though. The victorian area was also pretty good, but there weren't as many interesting facts.

My first museum stop in London was thoroughly educational! I never realized just how much we don't learn about the UK back home in the US. I was very appreciative of how they start with London's history starting from prehistoric times until today. Who knew it was the Romans who founded London, and that the name means "the place through which the river flows?" I didn't! I particularly enjoyed learning about London's Paleolithic times and seeing the lifestyle recreations.

They do free tours through specific galleries at specific times, and I went on one with Katie

This museum in central London is a lot of fun, big enough to kill an hour or so and not so big that it's overwhelming. Tells the story of the city from prehistory until the 20th century. Fun and informative, I really enjoyed learning about the history of London. It's one of the free museums so certainly worth a visit. Recommended.

I was spending the week solo with a toddler in the Barbican area of London while my husband filled his days with work. My days were spent spending money I didn't have, climbing London's *shockingly dangerous* playgrounds and taking in the sights. The closest museum to my apart-hotel by many, many kilometers was The Museum Of London, so I decided to check it out.

It was the perfect place for me and my little lady! I loved walking through the history of London, through the monarchies and the plague and fire all the way up to the 2012 Olympics. My gal loved looking at the torch, the section

First off, it's free. That alone should be enough to get you here for at least a few hours. Secondly, just because it's a museum, doesn't mean it's boring.

There is actually a lot to see, and it's all presented in a way as to make it engaging, interesting, and educational, without being long-winded. Most of the displays you'll see are the real deal, from human and animal skulls- or pieces of them- to the artifacts of ages long past. They have an aurochs skull there that almost as big as a human torso, and almost had me running in the opposite direction. And each

Been touring around London now for a couple of days, and all I have been doing is going from museum to museum and I was already museum'd out.

But I was surprised that I actually got to know a little bit more about London like the Great Fire of London 1666. Only a few deaths resulted from the fire but most of London was destroyed. However a few of the artifacts survived the fire and are on display here at the museum including some high valued paintings.

Also, they have an exhibit about the Great Plague of London which killed 100,000 from 1664-1666. But they have a lot of modern stuff here
