Huge collection, well presented. Hours of fascinating things to see. Great cafe. Wonderful staff - very helpful. Thank you Albert. Thank you.
Can easily spend a morning on one small section. For example, just look at this breathtaking chair, with its patented technology for bending wood. Wonderful! Inspiring!!

The V&A is one of my favorite museums. The fashion gallery is outstanding. The ironwork gallery has some great Gothic Revival work by Gilbert Scott and others. Jewelry is plentiful and sparkly. However, I do wish the V&A said on the website which galleries are closed on a particular day. I went specifically to see the British and Furniture galleries today (in search of 19th century papier-mache items), all of which were closed. Disappointing for this trip specifically.

The Victoria & Albert Museum is a magnificent building in South Kensington featuring artifacts and artwork from antiquity through the present day. Wander the halls to discover Greek and Roman sculpture, huge classical paintings and tapestries, southeast Asian religious art, medieval ironwork and silver, Christian stained glass windows, and even a collection of the queen's jewelry. There are also contemporary exhibitions on handbags, fashion, and theatre. Some of the exhibits charge an extra fee and require tickets, but the majority of the museum is free for all. Overall, the V&A is

The museum had closed again some months ago, and it will reopen on May 19. Â Admission is still free, but it will now be necessary to pre-book a (timed) ticket online. Â Tickets will be released monthly and will be available for a maximum of six people visiting together. Â Entrance to the museum will be on Exhibition Road and exiting will be on Cromwell Road. Â Both of those have no steps and are wheelchair accessible. Â (Note that the tunnel entrance/exit is currently closed). Â Masks will be mandatory and social distancing will be maintained.

WOW. Three hours spent here barely covered part of the basement level and a good portion of the first floor. You could probably spend weeks in here and not see everything. There is something to see for any type of art, design, history or culture connoisseur to appreciate. There are plenty of placards explaining almost all the items on display, if you only have a short visit here grab a map and focus on the exhibits you really want to view, otherwise it's easy to lose track of time (like I did). Personally I enjoyed the Cast Courts, the Japanese arts, handicrafts and ceramics exhibit, and the

Whether or not the title they've awarded themselves ("the world's leading museum of art and design") is accurate I can't say. Without reservation though, I can say that the V&A is one of the best museums I've ever been to and a return visit might just be the impetus for scheduling a trip back to the UK.
Though their collection is enormous and free of charge, the V&A has come up with an enticing way to extract funds (happily) from my wallet. They get there through "special" exhibits, each requiring a separate fee to enter.

Free! Of course you can give a donation if you happen to be so generous. As if! If it ain't free, it ain't for me! I asked the guard if I can take pictures, but he told me they have to stay on the wall. Bummer! I always make the mistake going to a museum when I don't really have time to take it all in and end up trying to learn the full historic timeline for five continents in 20 minutes. How did all these statues from across the world end up in London anyway? I picture some 18th century English bloke dragging a 2000 lbs Buddha statue through a port in Asia while thinking this will

Wow!! The V & A is one of the best museums I've been to. Gorgeous, clean and so many fascinating exhibits. I visited during my winter vacation from school and was lucky to be able to visit the amazing museum.
It has so many exhibits that I felt like I could spend days here. I think most of the things are on permanent display, from ancient pieces of pottery and coins to more modern paintings and sculpture.
When I visited, they had a special exhibition on clothes. It was fascinating and the curators obviously spent some time selecting gorgeous pieces of clothing throughout the past couple

After visiting the Natural History Museum, just right across the street, we stopped into the Victoria and Albert Museum. You put in a lot of miles walking around museums, so the first thing we did here was chill.
Part of our group wanted to venture and see more, the other half wanted to chill in the outdoor courtyard where they were serving food, drinks and children were playing in the fountain. Yours truly was part of that fun bunch.
So I'm relaxing with a glass of sauvingnon blanc and my mom with a persecco, it's hot out and we are just enjoying people watching and taking a break

The Victoria and Albert Museum, referred to locally as the V&A, might receive less attention than its next door neighbor the Museum of Natural History. But if you visit both museums in person, the V&A is the one doing the upstaging!

Convenient location, valise to Tube station, great cafe for snacks or lunch and well stocked gift shop.
I will visit again on my next London trip!!

I am not a museum person, but I really enjoyed my visit here. They have a number of free guided tours. You can just pop in without a reservation. My girlfriend and I took one of the tours. Our guide had picked several exhibits of her choice and gave us a short but very informative tour. The exhibits she had chosen were very different from each other, but I thought they were somehow coherent. There were many exhibits we would have just walked pass if we hadn't had our guide. Her short tour let us "get to know" the museum and made me want to come back. After lunch, we came back and
