Our aim is to provide long term, respite or rehabilitation care and to foster an atmosphere of care and support which enables and encourages our residents to live a full, interesting and an independent lifestyle as possible with rules and regulations being kept to a minimum. St James House is situated near to the town centre which offers a wide range of amenities.
St James House comprises of 30 well appointed bedrooms on two floors. We have 2 lounges and dining room. Although all bedrooms are furnished, residents are encouraged to add their own individual touch to their rooms by bringing their own favourite pieces of furniture, photo's pictures etc. We have 1 passenger lift plus a selection of mobilising aids for those residents that have difficulty mobilising.

Services
Individuality is at the heart of our programmes. You are welcome to make your room your own, with special mementoes, photographs and items of furniture and in some cases, pets can be accommodated too. We want you to treat St James House as a home from home and that includes a high degree of privacy.
The home is registered for 30 older people over the age of 65, of either sex, and can be accommodated in 26 single rooms and 4 double rooms on two floors. A lift is provided for ease of access to the first floor. All bedrooms have been tastefully decorated during the last year and include wash basins with privacy curtains in the double rooms.
You might be able to get help with the costs of living in a care home. Your local authority will assess whether you have to make a contribution towards the fees and this is dependent on your income and savings. If you own your own home and you move into a residential care home permanently, the local authority may be able to assist in the first 12 weeks while you establish funds for your stay in the nursing home.
