Services
Since 1987 Turfcote has been providing high quality, personalised care services focused on maintaining the dignity, privacy and individuality of our residents while offering them all the support they need. The original building was built around 1850 and stands in two acres of grounds that contain a variety of mature trees given the protection of tree preservation orders.
Turfcote exceeds the Care Homes National Minimum Standards laid out by the DHS in all respects. Our specialist dementia care unit incorporates features and recommendations that are in line with the University of Stirling National Dementia Strategy 2009. We continually strive to improve our services by adding new facilities and offering extra training to staff.
People move into a care home because they need extra support, not because they stop being themselves. The most important value we consider at Turfcote is recognising that all our residents are individuals and need to be treated as such. For all new residents we create a personalised care plan that takes into account their specific needs, history, preferences and beliefs.
Investors in People help ensure that businesses work with their employees and provide a framework to boost working culture, increase employee engagement and encourage game-changing leadership. We achieved a rating of 5 out of 5 for our food hygiene meaning we have demonstrated a very good standard of hygiene.
Turfcote has an unusually high retention rate for staff in the care industry. This is because we treat staff fairly and with understanding, we work with them to constantly improve our services for both residents and staff and we pay more than the minimum wage for care workers. Happy staff benefits our residents.

My mother moved in to Turfcote and really enjoyed her time at the place. Sadly she passed away after 9 months but she had said she would be more than happy to spend her last year's at Turfcote. The staff are great and very attentive to residents needs, particularly a shout out to Michelle who mum thought the world off. Mum didn't suffer fools and didn't take to new people quickly. However Michelle was on mums wavelength and understood her character from the start. Mum loved the days she was on duty and they shared a few cheeky giggles. The building is great and mums en suite bay windowed downstairs
