We do this by allowing the children to explore, play and learn as they wish, with supportive, caring and experienced staff always on hand to assist them. Our purpose-built pre-school has been rated as outstanding by Ofsted 4 times! We are located in the recreation ground close to the village centre and have been an integral part of the village since 1960.
We are fortunate to have access to the playing fields, playground, and a wooded area for forest school type activities. We are very proud of our transition to school program, in conjunction with the local primary schools. As a pre-school, we provide more than just childcare - we also prepare your child for school.

Rotherfield Pre-School supports the government's 15 funded hours initiative, Early Years Education Entitlement (EYEE). Each Early Years Provider offers this in a different way.
Rotherfield Pre-School Directors are a group of parents that commit to volunteering a small amount of their time to aid the smooth and efficient running of the Pre-School. Meeting monthly, together we continually strive to improve business implementation, streamline the financial side of the Pre-School and self evaluate to achieve continuous improvement.
POPS are an enthusiastic group of parents that organise fundraising activities, raising vital funds for the Pre-School. Rotherfield Pre-School is a not for profit charity, meaning that any profit made is reinvested straight back into the Pre-School. Unfortunately, due to being under funded by the local authority for the 15 funded hours entitlement, we lose money for every funded hour a child attends the setting.
All children are excited and eager to learn. They feel safe and secure in the setting and develop excellent relationships with the staff. Take a look through our Ofsted reports from over the years, we are very proud to have kept an outstanding rating for the fourth time in a row! Since joining the pre school, we have been so impressed with the wonderful, caring staff and the interesting and varied activities on offer.
