Paddington Pre-School in East Grinstead is a privately run pre-school established for over 30 years offering sessional care to children between the ages of 2 and 5 years old. We work closely with the Early Years Development and Childcare Partnership (Sure Start) and we are registered for Nursery Education Grant funding.
Children attend the Pre-School from all over the East Grinstead area and eventually move on to a number of primary schools within East Grinstead and the surrounding areas. We do urge you to visit one of our sessions to gain a fuller understanding of our care and aims.

Services
We are beginning to use and understand mathematical language and concepts i.e. bigger, smaller, heavier, lighter etc. If we work in small groups we are developing our social interaction and will be encouraging language and learning how to share and co-operate with each other.
We begin to understand that we can make meaningful marks with out pencil and will eventually come to understand that in English we write from left to right and from top to bottom.So when we come home and you ask what we have done at pre-school we hope you will understand that we have been very busy learning through play and working towards our Areas of Learning and Development.

At both settings we have staff that have the following qualifications: NVQ3 and some in training NVQ2. All staff have child protection. All are DBS/CRB checked; Health and Safety, Food Hygiene, Equal Opportunities, Additional Needs, Outdoor Provision and 90% are First Aid trained.
Each child is assigned a keyworker who will initially help your child with the settling in process and who will eventually, through a process of observation, evaluation and parental input, put together individual play plans to continue and further your child's development at a pace suitable for him/her.The Pre-schools operate a Inclusion Policy which is available to view on the notice board.

At Paddington Pre-School we aim to provide a calm, caring and friendly environment so that children attending will feel confident and happy. At Paddington Pre-School - Stage 2 we aim to provide a caring and stimulating environment to encourage children to become more independent and confident and help them to thrive in a friendly atmosphere.
As our playgroup likes to promote and encourage the children's full participation in all activities, we would request that parents send their children in clothes suited to messy activities and that in bad weather wellingtons are provided for outdoor play. Our own Paddington sweatshirts are available - details on request.
There are no restrictions for your child throughout the week. Payment is preferred half-termly in advance. Flexible arrangements, in certain cases, are available upon request. Payment is required even if your child does not attend, as playgroup has limited budget. A half term's notice is required should you wish to remove your child.
