Services
At Early Steps we strive to provide an exciting environment, where the children will learn through play. We understand that all children are unique, and they all bring different skills, ideas and have different ways of learning. By having a key worker system in place, and through discussions with parents, we understand each child as an individual and tailor their experiences to maximise their potential.
In order to allow the children to explore and experiment with all different kinds of materials and textures, we request that you send children in clothes that can be easily washed and you don't mind being a little messy! This will allow the children to explore without us worrying about them getting messy.
This is the start of our day, the children will arrive and the preschool and will do self registration and then go and play. At around this time, we will sit down, say good morning to all our friends, talk about the weather and practice this weeks Makaton sign. We will then wash our hands and sit down for snack.
The Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) was originally launched in 2008. It is the statutory framework for all early years providers in England but it is held in high regard worldwide. The Statutory Framework for the Early Years Foundation Stage sets the standards that all early years providers must meet.
How does Early Steps preschool know if children need extra help and what our parents /carers should do if they think their child may have special educational needs or disabilities? Every child is allocated a key person as soon as they start with us. This will be a member of staff who will work closely with your child, getting to know them, settling them in and doing detailed written observations, which will be used to assess their development.
