Mayfield Pre-School is an Ofsted rated 'outstanding' setting, situated in the heart of our beautiful community and is open to all children between the ages of 2 to school age. We are a caring and compassionate team who believe in a nurturing and 'hands on' approach to learning for all. We believe in supporting children's development through varied learning opportunities that build upon their interests.
We work closely with our parents and strive to achieve great partnerships with them, as they are the experts on their children! As a registered charity we are led by a wonderful committee. They work tirelessly to put on many fantastic events throughout the year in order to support us in providing new equipment, resources and toys, all to enhance our children's learning.

Services
With our children, our parents and our community at the heart of all we do, we hope to provide a fun start to our children's early years education so that they leave with positive attitudes for life long learning. Our practitioners strive to create a safe and happy environment for all our children, believing that each child is unique and should receive an individual experience, that puts their wellbeing at the forefront of what they do.
Every member of our team will be a 'key person' to different children, regularly observing and reporting on the progress of your child. We want all children to feel safe, stimulated and happy in our setting and to feel secure and comfortable with staff. We also want parents to have confidence in both their children's well-being and their role as active partners within the preschool.
The committee is elected once a year, just after the start of each school year (November). Each member of the committee brings enthusiasm, passion and a different skill set to help contribute to the annual goals of the pre-school, as well as taking part in important decisions on how the pre-school is run and moved forward.
This is a county initiative intended to improve Early Years Education across settings that share the same site or are close in proximity. The aim of these projects is to improve the learning development of children under the age of 5 and promote the best practice across the Early Years.
We work closely with Mayfield Primary School to provide children in both settings with the best early learning opportunities that they can get, as well as supporting a smooth transition for children into primary school life - whether they will be moving next door or further afield.

As a Preschool we participate in a number of local celebrations and traditions, sharing these with our children and parents. From Maypole dancing at the Mayfair to 'Angel Fest' and the tree festival in December, we support our families in being involved in these events if they wish, supporting our community as they support us.
