It is my great pleasure and privilege to welcome you to St John's Primary School. We are a one-form entry Primary and Nursery school welcoming children aged 2-11 in Knaphill, Woking. We have a real family feel at St John's and children clearly benefit from being members of a small community.
With around 215 pupils, our school is small enough for everyone to know and look out for one another, but large enough to provide a range of experiences including a range of after school clubs and fantastic educational trips and visits. Our staff love working here, and we are lucky to have a hugely experienced team.

At St John's we believe history to be the study of people in the past and how their actions have affected our lives today. The past influences all aspects of our lives. It shapes the customs and beliefs of the communities to which we belong. History can help children to make sense of the world in which they live and help them develop a sense of identity.
St John's Primary School visits the church in St John's village for key celebrations. Our Year 6 pupils mark their move to secondary education by attending a leaver's service at Guildford Cathedral. Members of the clergy participate in the school's assemblies and support our RE lessons. The School's Christian Assembly Team also takes part in our school acts of worship.
St John's Primary School and Children's Centre has expanded its Nursery provision. Our popular nursery for three and four year olds is now welcoming two year olds as well. Situated in a newly converted building within the grounds of St John's Primary School, and under the school's leadership and governance, Little Bears is a welcome addition to the local community.
We also hold an Open Week for prospective Nursery and Reception parents in the Autumn Term. The school manages admissions to all other year groups itself, and you can apply directly to the school if you would like a place. Further information including the In Year Application Form is available from Surrey County Council In Years Admissions.
Ofsted stands for the Office For Standards in Education. It is a non-ministerial government department responsible for the inspection of all schools and other educational organisations in England. Currently schools are normally inspected on a six-year cycle and receiving 6-10 weeks' notice of its next inspection.
